Balcao Restaurant — Restaurant in Goa

This was the second i was visiting because of good food. I also booked table while on the way to resturant. But now the taste has gone very bad and no respect to clients. Owner Sandip mention he was in this hotel industry from last 20 years... not sure how many customers he has looted.

But now the service is worst, the take orders quoting wrong qty and charge high price and they will ask you to tale parcel. Actually what happened was we ordered for 1 piece of king fish they finally served after 45 min with 3 piece and charged Rs 1000. When we asked we just ordered for 1 piece they mention we serve 3 piece per plate which we never needed so much. We had to take parcel and give to road side people.

Looks like this was done intentionally to cheat tourist's.

Never go to such people who don't respect .. value customers or who has intentions to...

Visited this afternoon. Ordered two items as both of us aren't big eaters. There were just two other diners in the restaurant. While the decor is attractive, the overall ambience was lacking as the service staff just weren't engaging enough (probably because we were locals and not tourists?) The tonic water my wife ordered was forgotten and the waiter had to be reminded. Chicken stroganoff was tasty, however the chef went overboard with the red, yellow and green peppers which lost their crispness in the sauce. The accompanying rice was tad bit undercooked. The vegetable in garlic sauce had so much of red food colour, it rendered the dish unappetizing and I daresay, toxic! We just couldn't finish the dish. It's a small cute place with very humble decor and overall vibe. Staff is super well behaved and welcoming. I reached the place when it was almost about to close and yet the server very politely just mentioned that the place is going to close but gave us full attention and service. The place has both indoors and outdoor seating. On a day with good weather outdoor seating is just perfect. They have some very cool artistic installation/hangings which are great to look at. They have good variety of dishes in their menu and majority food items are good in taste too. They also have daily special menu.
