Capricorn Beach Shack — Restaurant in Goa

First a Note- Have visited this place 21-22 times since Feb 2021. The management changed since this ongoing season from Oct 2022. Even reviewed it with full rating - at that time when Gagan used to manage it- that is gone with Mgmt change.

Visited 4 times since management changed in Oct 2022 - 3 times with family and 1 time with friends. The place is going downwards on every visit.

1. Mgmt Behavior- as 2-3 more people have noted- the behavioral issues seen now where guests (read Indian Guests, the treatment of even non-ordering Foreign nationals is entirely different) are treated with frowns and scowls. The overall vibe is of high headedness. The person on billing now used to be Mgr for another restaurant nearby and had entirely different way of treating us or our kids (this was in Jan- Feb 2022 time) and the attitude now after owning this place has taken 180 degree turn.
2. Location and Sun Bed- Location remains same which is awesome, and the Sun bed shades are done up and have been nicely set for long sitting in day. Money is spent on this considering guest's comfort. This would have been reason to rate 3 star otherwise but for other things and general behavioral vibes.
3. Food - Has gone downhill on each of 4 visits with latest one being real bad. Wings being undercooked from inside, onion rings tasting like onion pakoda, Cafreal being uncooked paste on the chicken. Cooks are changed , their method are expected to change but it should be be case that guests are being used to try out capability of new cooks- Seems that is what is happening.
4. quantity - Alongwith taste, the quantity has reduced.. it seems attempt to make as much money as possible
5. Staff morale- Staff behavior was the best thing about this place earlier. That seems to have taken a hit - read next bullet point on feedback to understand
6. Feedback- we can see morale depletion to level where they are scared to take back feedback on cook and dishes as that will cause problem for cook's livelihood and that owners / Mgmt may treat the back kitchen folks badly.

Overall, after a long history of visits, recommendations to relatives and friends - it is place to avoid now. Only other good point is the great server - Naveen- He has been great since last 2 years and is wonderful even now. Ever smiling and hard working person. Kept going back last 3 times only for him, but there is a limit to which he can save other...

This shack gave us the worst experience of all. I asked if the Pina colada was made from fresh juice (seeing there were coconuts by the side) and the owner made a frustrating face and yelled that there would be NO MODIFICATIONS SIR.... we ordered what was clearly written as "Spaghetti Marinara" and we got spaghetti with prawns in it (we are all vegetarians). We ordered Pina colada and received it with a huge fly in it, when asked for what that was, the drink went through 3 phase inspection before the owner declared that it warrants to be remade, and the remade was significantly watered down (get a hint). The general vibe from the shack was "We are the owners of this shack and you all are mere customers so obey what we say and eat what we serve and go away". Will NEVER EVER visit...

This place used to be run by Gagan and was a great fun to be. Friendly staff, willing to make changes to the menu as required - just the place where I would spend hours (and run up quite a bill :)). Please note that I am a frequent visitor to Goa and always in varca. I was not aware of the change of management, and was quite taken aback by callous response of the new staff. A distinct vibe that they do not want to really serve Indian guests. A tad sad, if that is true. Anyways, time to try new...
