Cellar 1612 - Wow what an experience! Indeed it is a hidden gem with such a wonderful ambience with the backdrop of the Aguada fort and the scenic view of the sea.
It was our first visit and we were totally surprised with the warm welcome we received and the complete dining experience overall.
The spread that we had for the Sunday Brunch was so tasty and prepared to perfection. We simply loved all the dishes that we tried.
One thing that really caught our immediate attention was each dish was freshly prepared and served for every order that we placed (this surely enhances the experience as well the feel good factor), which we have noticed for the first time among other brunches/buffets that we have been to, where food is kept across on a table.
The food was meticulously prepared and with so much care taken for every minute detail which indeed needs an applause. A special shout out to the Chef :-) Not to miss the micro-greens garnished to enhance the appearance and flavor.
Special thanks to Joanna, the manager who was so warm and hospitable, she always came across to our table to check on us and she did this every time with such a bubbly and contagious smile :-)
And yes not to forget to mention, Uma, who was so attentive (with a bright smile) and knowledgeable about each dish and explained it so well and went out of her way to make sure we had a super dining experience :-)
A must visit for a memorable dining experience!!
We will surely visit again!!

Read moreHad the most wonderful Sunday Brunch here ,fabulous food and completely different from the restaurants in Candolim ,absolute fine dining food though reasonably priced ,the small plates were so delicious ,each and every starter served just dissolved in the mouth and the quantity was just right( hats of to the chef ,his expertise showed in each and every item served ) (the dips were refreshing and tasty specially the pineapple one ,)so can leave space for the mains ,the yakni gravy was so delicious ,(wish could have tried the Japanese bowl and seafood too but our stomachs were stuffed)the restaurant is set in such a scenic place too inside the jail museum inside the Fort ( so if standing outside for pics can get the whole sea view ) now to come to the wonderful Manager Johanna who was so warm and hospitable from the time we entered ,explaining all the dishes being served ,had a senior citizen she went out of her way to organise a wheel chair ,very efficient at her job too ,and made us so comfortable,a big thank you to her ,now the only negative I would say is that the sound of the music can be a bit low while people are eating ,that’s it ,can see this place becoming my new favourite:) because of the quality of food served along with wonderful service and a very...
Read moreJust wow. What an amazing find this was.
As soon as you walk in, there’s a great vibe to the place, but the star of the show is without doubt the food.
The service was also faultless from start to finish.
I wanted to try as many dished as possible, so we opted for a selection of small plates. The lovely lady serving suggested several, so we went with what she suggested, and so glad we did. Every single one was amazing, and so different. The attention to detail, and flavours, packed into every dish was phenomenal.
Thank you to all the staff who looked after us so well.
Just a little side note. The restaurant is actually just inside the jail museum. You don’t have to pay the entrance fee. Go up to the ticket counter, and they will arrange for someone from the restaurant to come and greet you. It’s speeds things up if you already have a reservation.
It is a bit of an odd location, and out of the town centre, but it’s defiantly worth the effort. We used the Goa Miles app to get there, and then the restaurant kindly arranged a taxi for our way back.
It is quite a new restaurant, and I really hope it does well, as it’s one of the most memorable places I’ve been to...
