Disappointing Experience ā Cold Dosa & Poor Service
I recently visited Hotel Vijayashree and had a very disappointing experience. We ordered a dosa, expecting it to be hot and crispy, but to our surprise, it was served cold. The order arrived over 12 minutes after placing it. When we brought this to the staff's attention, his prompt response was that "The dosa becomes cold within 10 SECONDS of getting it off the tawa." It was an absurd response. When we complained about the stuffing being unusually cold, the response we get is "Our dosas are stuffed with cold stuffing." We politely asked him to bring a fresh hot dosa. He said he'll speak with the manager. He didn't clear our table. More than 5 minutes after observing the waiter serving other tables, we asked him about our fresh hot dosa, to which he replied, "Yes, we will provide." Over 10 minutes later, the manager comes to our table and tells us that he accessed the CCTV footage of our table and claimed that we started eating 2 minutes after the order was brought to our table. He didn't want to disclose how long it took for the order from being ready in the kitchen and the waiter bringing it to our table. Dear management, we have had food in other hotels and we have a fair idea of how long it takes for food like a dosa to go as cold as you served us. Instead of addressing the issue, they blamed us, saying we took too long to start to eat it.
Good service is about ensuring customer satisfaction, but unfortunately, that was lacking here. The management was dismissive and aggressive, and the overall service was poor. A restaurant should take responsibility for serving food at the right temperature, not shift the blame onto customers.
It's definitely not an experience Iād want to repeat. Hope they improve their service and attitude towards...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreConsistently average and below average in everything. I have no idea how anyone with a single functioning taste bud could call this a good place for south Indian food. Just how low is the bar?
Dosa was ok. Masala was good. Chutney was literal water. Sambhar was on the sweet side. Personally, I prefer spicy, TN style sambhar. To be fair, it's an Udupi style place so if you like Karnataka style sambhar, you might Ike it. Vada was decent, so was idli. Again, sambhar and chutney were inedible so unless you want to eat idli vada without any accompaniment, it's not worth it. Onion pakoda was unacceptable. Rava plain was bland and bad.
Overall, won't visit this place again unless I have a craving...

I have also tasted in Belgaum Ajanta hotel, Hubli kamat and UB and also in Davangere the original benne dosa.
