Our usual Saturday night dining with friends took us to this place due to good reviews and images of food on social media...but oh boy...we were thoroughly dissapointed.
The place looks charming at first from outside.
We ordered many dishes after taking recomendation from our server.
The food is something we will not be going there for second time. Below mediocre ..no taste...mostly things dumped in spices and cooked ..
For starters.. we had french fries( good item on the menu.. seriously)...cheese garlic naan which was standard and butter garlic squids which carried hint of fishiness ..
We then ordered chicken basil which was only 4 star item on the menu.
The orrad kebab( or whatever was it's name) was lacking taste..just spiciness and raw spice taste overwhelming you.
We patiently waited for green masala stuffed bangde( mackerels)..our bar was very high as we have had delicious bharille bangde in another restaurant in Panaji.Sadly these bangdes we fried rechado style( without rava) and the green masala inside was lackluster..the bangdes were fresh though.
Then some tawa fried chicken which was very spicy.( Disappointing)
Vegetarian options were less . The paneer dish was sub standard and the mushroom tikka was thumbs down.not at all cooked properly..the veg biryani was too spicy with whole spices spoiling every spoon of the dish.
The egg fried rice was surprisingly good compared to the dissapointing things we had ordered earlier.
The drinks- kokum soda and lime soda were okayish and lit was substandard.
We skipped desserts as options were few and we did not want to spoil the mast meal of the day so we went to another place.
The place looks good from outside but needs some renovation where there are water seepages on the walls and specially in the washroom area.
Request to the owner to please change your chef/ cook .
The serving staff were quick but they need a little polishing and better uniforms .
We will not be going...
Read moreAwesome place to hang out with family & friends. Located in Caranzalem bylanes in a quiet residential locality, this is a ground floor, air conditioned restaurant has around 12-15 tables & a long bar. Visited during lunch on a Sunday afternoon. Ample of Street parking available. Cool interiors, literally the color schematic is teal pastel, beige & ratan furniture with handmade jute rug wall hangings & low hanging eclectic lights. The staff was friendly, young & smart. We chose to sit near the entrance as the air conditioning was down & with no ceiling fans it got a bit warm due to frequent power outages. The starters were crunchy & fresh. We ordered the Squid Batter fry & Chicken Tikka. Our main course was of course the classic Goan Fish Thaali. Everything was served hot, promptly & with a good presentation. Rates were reasonable too. And though our group was having fun being loud & noisy, we were never asked to tone it down as some fine dining places do, meaning we were really having a good time. We only felt silent when we dug into the delicious & exhaustive Chonak thaali. All the Best...
Read moreSo we decided to go to Orrad for lunch today 8th Sept 22. We ordered a honey chilly potato it came after more than half hour...taste was ok ok. Then just to try we ordered a chicken xacuti asked them for boneless but no they can serve only with bones. Anyway it came with parathas we ordered. The xacuti was the worst one we have ever tasted in Goa and the chicken had only bones no meat on it...the parathas are store bought and not made in house ...its was soaked with oil...terrible experience. I did bring it to the notice of the waiter about the oil dripped parathas n he said its ready made as its newly opened n no staff. I told him about the horrible tasting xacuti to which he nodded his head n disappeared n never came back. Guys don't waste your money coming here...go elsewhere where at least u get a satisfying meal. We all were hungry and dissatisfied after the meal. Worst experience. And yes we paid...
