Not all fusion restaurants are created equal. Some stumble, some are over the top, and others, like Miri x FWB just blow your expectations out of the water. This modern restaurant pushes the envelope and delivers a culinary experience at prices that make it affordable to everyone. The menu is divided into contemporary, soul and fusion - and each one offers a playful mix of flavour, texture, presentation and fun. My personal favourites were December… 12-hour slow cooked beef tenderloin slices with cream cheese and mushroom pate, red wine, cranberry drizzle, cinnamon, and a whole list of condiments more commonly found In Christmas Cake. After all, this dish is inspired by the Christmas season when every celebration involves meat and plum cake. Another dish, ‘Goa,’ encapsulates the flavour of Goa in a single bite - and that’s saying something! A Recheado jam, Goan curry patè and curry ‘air’, a bit of seafood and more sing together in harmony as it melts in your mouth. For mains, I tried the Seafood Affair which was memorable (and very heavy if you are to eat in by yourself.) Meat lovers, head to the Texas Low and Slow section of the menu for a small selection of hearty burgers, for which Friends with Buns shot to the limelight before merging with Miri to become MirixFWB. For desserts, the Serra Dura is textbook perfect, with an addition of tender coconut in good measure, for extra points.
Overall a fabulous experience! I have my eye on the Khao Suey, pulled pork baos, Italy and so many more intriguing dishes that I’ve bookmarked for next time.

Read moreI visited Miri on Thursday, the 28th November 2024. I was there during the lunch hour. I was on my own with no company.
I live in Goa and get the experience of various restaurants across Goa. I'm a retired Professor of the Goa Institute of Management. I've been to Miri 13 days ago. I had booked a table then through EasyDiner. On that day I was offered a discount of 25% on the price.
Both because it's a Thursday, . and because I entered the restaurant at about 12.30 pm, the crowd was thin. I went with the clear idea of ordering the beef steak.
The service demand was straightforward: a beef steak and a small single malt. No fusion dish today.
The beef steak was decent, par for the course. Not great. Not bad. I was told the beef is sourced from Kerala.
The steak was served on a bed of mashed potato with a couple of pieces of beans, a slice of carrot and of tomato. The steak was topped by a half fried egg.
The price at Rs 930 for the steak I felt was exorbitant. It's the most expensive steak in all of Goa. Is the steak worth this price?
I am afraid not. I think a correct price for this dish is about Rs 600 or 650.
I was also charged a service charge of 5% of the base bill. It was labelled "service tax" on the bill. The management removed the amount on my asking about this "tax". They said it's a service charge which isn't mandatory.
By the way, in my earlier visit booked through EasyDiner I obtained a discount of 25% on the base bill. Since I had gone without booking, I received no discount. So, if you choose to visit Miri, book your table through one of the...

The highlight of the meal was undoubtedly the dish called ‘Goa’, which was a Goan Fish Thali served in small heavenly bites. As a Goan myself, I can confidently say that this dish is a must-try for anyone who wants to experience the best of Goan cuisine. The flavors were perfectly balanced, and every bite was a delight. Kudos to Chef Tristan Lopes for creating such an amazing dish❤️
In addition to the ‘Goa’, I also tried the Slow smoked chicken cafreal, Cardon blue, and Tender coconut serradura, and each dish was unique and delicious in its way. It was clear that the chef at Miri_x_FWB had put a lot of thought and creativity into each dish, and the quality of the ingredients was top-notch🌟
To complement the meal, I also tried some of their refreshing beverages, and they were the perfect addition to the meal. Whether you prefer alcoholic or non-alcoholic drinks, Miri x FWB has something for everyone😍
