Traveller's Inn Restaurant — Restaurant in Goa

I went to Travellers Inn beach restaurant today and was shown 2 live mud crabs by the manager a smaller male crab and a larger female crab. I decided to purchase both. I then asked the manager to serve me the larger female crab and pack the smaller one to take-away, however the manager informed me that they will prepare the smaller male crab and pack the lager female to take home. I agreed and had the smaller male at the restaurant the preparation tasted good but the crab itself did not have much meat.

When I got home and decided to have the crab I had packed later that evening only to realise that I was deceived and cheated by the restaurant And given another male crab instead of the female I was shown.

I am very well versed in mud crabs and have eaten mud crabs for well over 50 years and can tell the difference between male and female.

I called the restaurant manager and informed him that they will prepare wrong crab was packed for me to take home, he denied and said that it cannot be and then mid conversation put the phone down on me. I sent him the picture of the packed crab along with pictures showing him the difference between male and female mud crabs via WhatsApp, to which I have not received an acknowledgement or reply.

It is necessary for food to be delicious at restaurants but more important that the restaurant does not deceive or cheat you.

I would recommend to take pictures of the seafood that the manager shows or even put a mark on the one that you decide to purchase, as I would not trust the manager. I would not even give one star to this restaurant and a rating of 4.5 is a false representation of this restaurant.

I would never visit this restaurant again as it has left a very bad taste...

Let me share a detail review about this restaurant. The person who took the order I guess owner is very rude and lacks politeness. We ordered one fish fry and he said only one fish fry? U have to wait 30 mins. We agreed and added up the goan prawn curry as he suggested. But he took more than an hour's time , when we tried calling him to check about our food he ignored us every single time Finally when he was available at the counter after 1hr:15 mins I checked with him about my order and he said ohh your order let me check and then he gave us our takeaway. After waiting for that long the food disappointed us even more. Such worst food I ever tasted. Fish and prawns were not washed and cooked properly. Everything is raw.
