Café De Meet in IBC, Piplod is a charming destination for those craving more than just a coffee break. From the moment you walk in, the ambiance strikes a balance between stylish and comfortable—warm lighting, tasteful décor, and a mix of indoor and rooftop deck seating make it ideal for casual catch-ups or relaxed dining. The outdoor deck facing the main road adds an extra visual appeal, especially in the evenings. 

The menu is diverse, blending continental, fusion, and Indian flavours. Standouts include the peri-peri fries, burrito bowl, pad thai noodles, and desserts like the blueberry cheesecake. Their coffee offerings also get frequent praise, with cappuccinos and cold coffee among the favourites.  The service is generally friendly and attentive, enhancing the overall experience. 

However, there are a few drawbacks. Portion sizes are sometimes found to be smaller than expected for the price, and the menu doesn’t always match the descriptions (e.g. missing avocado slices in some dishes).  Also, on busy weekend nights, things can get noisy and seating a bit cramped. 

Overall: Café De Meet is a great pick for ambience, quality food, and a pleasant time. If you’re okay with paying a bit more and don’t mind crowds, it’s definitely worth a visit.—

Firstly, we greatly miss Navkar’s professionalism and politeness. He was truly a people person and a coffee aficionado, always providing excellent recommendations.

Although we're uncertain why he left, it's important for the owner to recognize that while expensive cafe decor and utensils are admirable, they won't sustain customer satisfaction in the long term. The way employees are treated, and in turn, how they treat customers, is paramount. While we miss Navkar, we sincerely hope he has found a better opportunity in a different cafe, perhaps in a different city with a more supportive owner.

Regarding my encounter with the owner, whom I believe is named Mandeep or Mandy, I would suggest he consider toning down his demeanor and exercising more humility. Conversations with him often feel dominated by an exaggerated sense of authority, as if he's the sole figurehead of Surat's cafe scene. It would be beneficial for him to draw inspiration from the hospitality of Nomad’s Cafe in Dumas, both in terms of their food and welcoming atmosphere.

Similarly, I hope the chef reconsiders his approach. While confidence is admirable, it's important to remain open to feedback and adapt to customers' preferences.
