Masala Canteen — Restaurant in Gujarat

A full five stars for this place. Only one major reason. And that is, NO NOISE. Absence of those deafening sufi songs from Bollywood adds to the ambience and you can actually talk to the person sitting next to you.... Most of the restaurants in Surat, even malls play music. They know that it is not a discotheque. Still they play these ugly songs with loud aaa....ee.....and huhu....so it is impossible in Surat to find a quiet place where you can have a decent meal with your family. So if you are in search of such place, you wanna be here.

The staff is polite. They serve good. No show off. All are well trained. They care about you. The crowd is good. Family crowd. Very decent. They even have those wooden chairs for babies. So if you have a toddler it is ok...

0 star 1- The manager over there has pathetic arrogance, we went 3-4 times thinking this time they won’t make any blunder, but unfortunately even after complaining to manager he said it’s weekend you have to cooperate. 2- Food will come after more than half an hour once they are free to take order. 3- Food quality and quantity both are horrible. They actually have that plating and service when the restaurant was new but now they serve people as free they are not going to pay. 4- Almost everything we ordered was tasteless tikkas, gravy, rice, soup. 5- Lets come to service, the management is worst, waiters will pass on by but won’t even answer for spoon, fork or water. I have asked for spoon 5-6 times and it came but it was dessert spoon. They really need a good staff and good management’. 6- I am sure surat people are highly going to regret their visit at...

First, the price and place doesn't goes hand in hand. There is no privacy at all, there can be atleast a very simple partition... Second, they didn't had any clue abt their orders. Thrice the servers came to our table with others orders. Third, Taste of the food was below par for most items. Fourth, staffs outlook doesn't match with the facade and appearance and price list of the place. Fifth, time for each dish is tooooooo long. You can place an order and simply go for a stroll around vip road and come back, but I doubt your order won't be ready. Sixth, for the first time we regretted ourselves for not tipping the servers, but masala canteen made us to do that.
