Formerly known 'khau gali' has now been renovated by Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation and reopened as 'Happy Street'. This street is exactly located behind the Law Garden. Where the 'chaniya choli' stalls end, this street starts. The entrance of the street welcomes you with the huge 'Happy Street' letters carved on the top of a brick wall. The entire street is lit with fairy lights and lanterns. (These pictures are of inauguration day so you might find it little less decorated)
The organized street is open for traffic but pedestrian area is covered with food trucks alongside sitting areas. Here you can have tea, dosa, kulfi and a lot more.
Good part is, there are dustbins placed everywhere in order to keep the streets clean. Keeping a tiniest detail in my mind, the side walls are painted very well. The graffiti on the walls project some of the Indian food items and famous places of Ahmedabad.
You might face Parking issues. Better use public transport to reach here. Also, avoid visiting on weekends.
