Neapolitan pizza is a beloved classic in the world of Italian cuisine, known for its simple yet delicious flavors and traditional preparation methods. As a connoisseur of pizza, I can confidently say that Neapolitan pizza is a culinary masterpiece that deserves all the praise it receives.
At its core, Neapolitan pizza is defined by its thin crust, which is soft and slightly chewy on the inside while boasting a slightly charred and blistered exterior, achieved through high-temperature wood-fired ovens. The dough is made from high-quality wheat flour, water, yeast, and salt, allowing the flavors to shine through. The authenticity of this pizza lies in its strict adherence to the original recipe and the use of traditional ingredients, such as San Marzano tomatoes, Mozzarella di Bufala Campana, fresh basil, and extra-virgin olive oil.
The combination of these elements creates a harmonious taste that is both simple and satisfying. The San Marzano tomatoes impart a natural sweetness and acidity, complemented by the creamy and slightly tangy Mozzarella di Bufala Campana. The freshness of the basil adds an aromatic touch that elevates the overall flavor profile. Each bite is a delightful symphony of tastes that transport your taste buds straight to Naples.
One of the most remarkable aspects of Neapolitan pizza is its quick cooking time, typically between 60 to 90 seconds. This ensures that the toppings retain their freshness, and the crust achieves that perfect balance of softness and crispness. The speed of cooking also preserves the nutrients and flavors of the ingredients, making Neapolitan pizza not only delicious but also a relatively healthier choice.
While Neapolitan pizza is undeniably exceptional, it may not be for everyone. Some may prefer thicker crusts or more elaborate toppings. Additionally, finding an authentic Neapolitan pizza outside of Italy can be challenging, as not every pizzeria follows the strict guidelines set by the Associazione Verace Pizza Napoletana (AVPN) to achieve official certification.
In conclusion, Neapolitan pizza is a timeless classic that showcases the brilliance of simplicity and quality ingredients. It delights the senses with its unforgettable flavors and textures, making it a must-try for any pizza enthusiast. However, to fully experience its authentic charm, seeking out a certified pizzeria in Naples or a reputable AVPN-certified restaurant is highly...

My family and I visited NP for a nice casual lunch. Alas, what we experienced was far from nice, and the level of casualness from the staff was disgusting.
Firstly, the volume of the TV made us feel that we were in a theater and not in a restaurant. I have been to places much nondescript than this one where people watch TV at low volumes while those patrons not interested are not affected by the volume. With that in mind I made three requests to the manager/owner (I am assuming considering the attitude) to reduce the volumes to civil levels, only to be told that we should be considerate about other clients as well. These other patrons were sitting within 2 feet of the manager/owner and were clearly his pals interested in watching Fast and The Furious. So much for customer is god. Secondly, the corn in the salad buffet was so off that it could kill someone. On learning this, sadly, the waiter did not care to replace the corn in the buffet, he simply gave us new plates. His attitude was as "Congrats on finding the mistake, you live, others may die". The rest of the food was OK, and the remainder of the service was definitely not up to the mark promised by the outer look of this place. Nevertheless, it was bearable. I have been to over 100 restaurants in India and abroad, all of different sizes and ratings, but have never left without tipping. I did so at this place, and do not regret my decision one bit. Do not go to this place if it is food and good service that you are interested in. I wish this review is taken in the right spirit and those in charge make some...
