I’ve been a regular visitor since the days this place was at IBC. We have frequently dined at Spicevilla, Leonardo, and Pavilion, and have always had good experiences — until recently. I’m writing this review a month or two after a very unpleasant incident, in the hope that it helps others and encourages some much-needed professionalism.
I was referred to book a banquet here by Spicevilla since their space was too small for my function. I visited the venue with my family on a special day, expecting a smooth process. Unfortunately, we were met with extremely unprofessional behavior from a staff member — I don’t recall his first name, but his last name was Singh.
He opened the door of the banquet hall while chewing pan masala and talking on the phone in his native language. While that’s his personal matter, I believe when a guest arrives, the first priority should be to attend to them professionally. Despite this poor first impression, we still showed interest in booking the banquet because the venue itself looked nice.
However, things went downhill from there. When we politely asked if any discount could be offered, his response was unnecessarily rude. We understand if rates are fixed — there’s no harm in inquiring — but his tone and attitude were completely uncalled for. Earlier, he had told us over the phone that everything was included and that the sofas were already there. But when we showed intent to book, suddenly there were added charges for furniture, and he began quoting rigid food rates and other terms that contradicted what was previously said.
I asked to speak to a manager, and he claimed he was the manager. Judging by his attitude, lack of professionalism, and overall presentation, it was hard to believe. The way he spoke to us, especially in front of my family, was unacceptable. We had even gone there with the intention of paying an advance, but after this experience, we decided not to book the banquet.
To make matters worse, as the event date approached, I received a call from them apologizing — but by then, the damage was done.
After years of being a loyal customer, I was truly disappointed to learn that a place I once trusted employs such unprofessional staff who can completely ruin a customer’s special day. I will not be visiting again and cannot recommend this...
Read moreYesterday we went to this place to celebrate my friend’s birthday but the experience was very disappointing. The environment felt chaotic, the seating cushions were extremely dirty, and it spoiled the mood right from the start. The staff seemed completely untrained and there was no manager or responsible person present to handle things, which led to zero coordination with customers and even among the staff themselves. The food was just average and considering the prices, the service and cleanliness were nowhere near acceptable. Since it was a rooftop restaurant, we understand that the situation might be different during the monsoon season, but hygiene is something that should never be compromised. The management should plan better for the monsoon so people can actually enjoy the rooftop experience instead of feeling...
Read moreHad an amazing experience at Oran Restaurant! The open terrace vibe is just perfect – airy, peaceful, and beautifully done with a modern touch. It's a great place to unwind and enjoy good food under the sky.
We tried the Chef's Special Povali Indianain course, and it was absolutely delicious – full of rich flavors and presented beautifully. The Cranberry Kamakaze, Mojito, and Raspberry mocktail were refreshing and perfectly balanced. Everything else we ordered was equally tasty and well-prepared.
The staff was polite, attentive, and very professional, making our dining experience even better. If you're looking for a place with a great ambience, quality food, and warm service, Oran Restaurant should be on your list!
