Real Paprika Bhuj — Restaurant in Gujarat

I’ve been a regular to RP since it opened probably visiting 3-4 time every year that I’m in India. Went there last week with 6 people for lunch and let just say, I won’t be back and neither will any of my guests.

To start with the service was abysmal, the waiters were clearly too busy to serve us and we had to keep asking, a few of us never got any garlic bread even though we asked 3-4 times!

Onto the pizza, they must have either changed their chef or their sauce mixture as the starter panini and all the pizzas had a sweet sugary taste. We queried this, stating that pizza sauce should be savoury and tangy and were told that is what the locals want!

I never got a slice of the RP special, so asked and had to wait some 15 minutes and what I got just couldn’t be eaten. It had so much salt on it that with a single bite I probably consumed my allowed weekly intake of salt. Again asked and to their credit they did taste it and confirmed that it did have way too much salt and that the chef must have made a mistake.

During all of this the staff just tried to deny that there was anything wrong, no apology, even for the salt laden pizza!

None of friends will ever go back and I’d discourage anybody from going there, what used to be a good lunchtime place to eat has turned into a mess so either go there at your risk or my advice is to avoid, there are plenty of other places where you can get better service and way better tasting food.

It was on the evening of 5th September 2018, that we decided to dine at the Real Paprika in Bhuj. We got a table soon as we got in and decided to have the unlimited dinner. The starters were pretty good. Though my friend who was accompanying me got a steel wool from his share of noodles which were freshly placed. This place doesn't serve soup which I felt was a drawback because I have previously been to the Real Paprika in Vadodara which has a soup too in the unlimited dinner. Moving to the main course, I found the Garlic bread a little less baked and with less cheese over it. Nonetheless they had topped every pizza(Margarita, Sweet corn, Paneer topped) with fine chopped onions and spring onions. When I asked to get some without it, I was answered that they have pre cooked pizzas which are already topped with the same. The stuffed Panini, the spicy and the sweet ones both had hardly any stuffing I found was very less and the bread too thick to consume. The thin crust pizza felt a little undercooked too. What hindered my experience here was that they have a time limit of 45 minutes over a table which I have never been through before. I should say the ice cream at the last was really worth the while.
