Sankalp Restaurant - South Indian Restaurant in Vadodara — Restaurant in Gujarat

Ours was the first visit on 26th June 2019 at this Branch. We were going to Ahmedabad and since it was getting late for dinner we thought to have it at Baroda itself and then start onward journey.

The restaurant was quite busy and thus there was waiting. While entering, one family group came out from the restaurant and we heard them saying, "these guys (Sankalp) just don't care of their customers and they just don't bother." I was first surprised cum shocked while hearing that about Sankalp. Since we had onward journey and thus didn't have much choice at that time 9:30pm for dinner, we went. We were 5 couple and as family tables were booked, we took all 5 couple tables to save time and quickly finish the dinner. They didn't have high chair for baby as well. We find it difficult to make my son sit on their normal chair. Based on the feedback of that family, I specifically suggested everyone to order anything from the fast moving items only so that order gets served faster and we can move on. To our surprise, idli sambhar took 15-20 mins to get served. My sister had to do constant follow up for idli and rest of the orders. We had thought to be out in max 45 mins but it took almost 1:20 hr for us to finish our dinner.

During our visit, I noticed that the staff, mainly the coordinators who are in white shirt are not very effective. They are late in response and management. The Kitchen staff isn't able to prepare the orders of basic items faster and service staff is doing things as per their understanding and expertise. In short poor management, delayed response and ineffective customer service. Given a choice, I would avoid going there again.

I have been at other Sankalp branches as well but this one was not much satisfactory.

Dislike would be a bit harsh.... First all air circulation was off. Yes it's November.....no Vadodara is not a cold place... The air conditioning does not need to be chilled but even a comfortable 25/26 degrees is nice!

Second the food really needs to get better. First eating out of those disasters they call plates is so irritating.... Some flag type design plate can hardly fit any food into it! It's been stupidly designed like that for ages...

Ordered idlis with a request they should be steaming hot...came luke warm. The paper masala dosa aloo bhaji was a real disaster. Absolutely bland and tasteless.... Ordered chilled masala chhash...came at room temperature! The restaurant does not keep ice! Quite a sad and disappointing...

Today I visited Sankalp Restaurant with my office colleagues for Lunch. Overall Ambience was very quiet & hygienic. We ordered mysure masala dosa & onion tomato uttapam. Which were slightly over priced in my opinion. But taste wise both the dishes were very flavorful,freshly made & everything was prepared with ghee which gave an edge to overall taste. And their complementary paan with coconut stuffing was really refreshing. So overall nice experience, one can consider Sankalp restaurant for fresh & authentic South Indian food if price is not the...
