I had heard a lot about this place. Their website states this is a place that has collaborated with over 150 artists across the globe, the results of which are tastefully presented as a unique experience in the premises of an art gallery. Or "Ideate, curate, collaborate". I had been keen to work in the ambience they describe. I reach there, and ask them upfront if they encourage writers sitting and working from there. They tell me - yes, you have chosen the right place. It was a light day for them and there were not too many people. Since the ground floor open area was occupied I head to the upper floor, place my order for a main dish, and start to set up my laptop. The plug point however, does not work. No plug points on the floor seem to work and it takes the staff quite some time to figure out the issue. By that time my order has arrived, I'm already done eating and am impatiently waiting to begin. Meanwhile, I decide to go to the bathroom on that same floor to wash my hands. The staff follows me to the loo suspiciously, as if I'm going to run away without paying the bill or something. Then I decide to make a call in the balcony section which is their open seating space on that same floor and I get the same suspicious vibe. The plug point issue gets fixed but then I am told that even though they have a wifi system, the customers are not allowed to use it! How absurd! Slightly fed up, mostly because of the weird vibe from the staff upstairs, I decide to change my location and sit downstairs where one of the seating space is now empty. A staff member stops me, goes to the manager behind and counter and whispers something suspiciously. The manager stops me and tells me that I could not go down to check out their gallery space or shift from my seat without clearing my bill. I tell them that I was planning on ordering more and was not leaving. They still refuse. I am very annoyed by now because it was not as if they had different kitchens for the two floors. The whole place is in a single compound, with a guarded gate, and they have enough and more staff constantly watching, and also a security camera at each and every corner. Not wanting to spoil my mood further, I pay and shift to the ground floor seating. By now I am also feeling bad about spending so much money and getting no work done for no real reason whatsoever. I order another coffee, determined to make my spending at that place worthwhile. I set up my laptop and decide to check out their art gallery while the coffee arrived. Suspicious looks from the staff again! By now I just want to finish my coffee and leave. I have my coffee, ask for the bill, and go to the loo to pee. The staff follows me! Extremely annoyed and fed up, I confront the staff and ask why they were following me around like this, and if they were just creepy fellows in general or if they were worried that I was going to whisk away without paying the bill. I tell them that my laptop, my phone, my bag - all my belongings were at the table and it felt a little stupid to assume that I would sacrifice all of that to not pay for their cup of measly coffee. Not to mention, that the staff just disappeared when you actually wanted them to refill your glass of water! They looked embarrassed and say nothing except ask me "Should we bring the bill now?" Why have you guys spent so much on the set up, the website blah blah blah if this is the unwelcoming and cold vibe you wish to have? So anyway, I spent Rs. 1000 on my main dish and coffee at that place, hoping to sit for a couple of hours and finish some writing. All I got was extremely bad service, terrible vibes that left me anxiety-ridden even to crack a knuckle, a whole lotta weirdness while going to the loo, expensive food, and a whole lot of pretence to be elitist. Made art feel very cold, suspicious and expensive, I have to say. Not worth all this trouble.
P.S. Their paneer main dish I ordered for around Rs. 500 had two small...

Like me you can also enjoy art over coffee and food! With a coffee shop from blue tokai it adds to the options for breakfast and lunch. We enjoyed vegetarian food treats as a high-tea:
▪️Blue tokai coffee ▪️Stat tea: one kind of hot ukada with cinnamon, honey, lemon & star anise ▪️Canope pizza with olive ▪️Loaded nachos ▪️Crem de catlana Strawberry colli ▪️Arancini risotto skewer
Usually we all had pretty quiet and peaceful time spent. Overall a good experience after 5...
Read moreWe recently visited The Project Cafe, also known as yellow house, which offers both outdoor and indoor seating option.
-- Outdoor Seating:- The outdoor area is surrounded by small plants and covered with vines, allowing sunlight to filter through, creating a charming and aesthetic atmosphere.
-- Indoor Seating:- For those sensitive to heat, there's AC indoor seating and non-AC options on first floor. The indoor environment is pleasant, enhanced by unique sealing lamps.
-- Taste:- I would rate the food a 7.8/10. We ordered four items: classic Margherita, signature Cold coffee, watermelon juice, and chocolate pancakes with maple syrup (contains egg).
• Classic Margherita: The thin crust was topped with large slices of tomato but lacked sufficient Szechuan sauce.
• Signature Cold Coffee:- This was quite unremarkable.
• Watermelon Juice:- Completely fresh and natural, I would rate it 5/5.
• Chocolate Pancakes: Served with guava and apple pieces. Along with maple syrup and vanilla ice cream, these were enjoyable.
-- Staff and Customer Service:- We really appreciated the demeanor of the manager and staff there. They spoke to us with a lot of humility and addressed our problems with a smile, providing solutions. The waiter who served our food appeared to be quite experienced and had excellent skills in interacting with customers. When my friend accidentally spilled juice, the waiter cleaned it up without showing any annoyance, simply saying, "No worries, it happens." After cleaning, he even asked my friend if she was okay?, which truly brightened our day.
While we found the prices a bit high for the taste, outstanding customer service definitely makes us want to...
