Twisted Roots, a new restaurant at SP Bopal Ring Road with thematic ambience of nature.

The owner has set up two different areas at the same venue- the closed seating area is a restaurant (Twisted Roots) while the outdoor seating area is a cafe known as Damroo. Kitchen for both the places is same but menu is quite different for cafe and restaurant.

They also have a beautiful rooftop space where one can organize a party and also a banquet space. Overall, one can choose to party at 4 different spaces as per the no. Of members in the group.

Coming to Damroo which we visited first in mid april- we love the ambience. The tables and cutlery is really simple but presentation of food is really good. The cafe wasn’t launched but on our request, the owner was kind enough to make us sit and enjoy the food in the cafe as we had specially visited the cafe in the evening for it. We loved:

One potato two potato loaded fries- These are not normal fries but with yellow cheese sauce. And yes, authentic yellow cheese sauce. We loved the quantity and taste of the fries. Cheese sauce was heavenly poured over fries but still the fries were so crispy.

Woody bruschettas (jain) - We can definitely say that these were the best jain bruschettas we ever had. One of our friend is jain so we tried these and wow what toppings over the bread. Loved the quality of mixture poured over the bread and it was baked really well.

Pink sauce pasta (jain)- We loved the pink sauce pasta over here. We would specially visit this place to have the pasta. Good amount of veggies were sauted in thick creamy sauce. Perfect amount of seasoning. Had good flavour and had perfect amount of salt.

Cold coffee- We never miss out on trying cold coffee at any cafe. The coffee was thick and creamy. Good amount of milk and coffee made it taste amazingly well.

We then visited the restaurant in last week of April and we must say we are in love with the ambience. The interiors are done very well. The beautiful lamps caught our attention as soon as we entered the restaurant. Coming to food, we tried:

Patile wale chole and Rang birange kulche- The chole were the authentic ones and also the kulchas just unfortunately they were a little hard may be because of the colouring.

Pot manchow soup- a great soup with crispy noodles already added. Perfectly balanced.

Frozen dahi boondi- the best in this summer days. Super chilled hung yoghurt covered with crispy boondi. That is extremely creative

The sphere mocktail- irange based mocktail with pulp added for the zing

Story of roots (chaat) - what a chat - potato, sweet potato, yam and pan all in one. Not to miss this one if you are that chatore

Baked mohanthal in almond pie- Mohanthal is a very popular Indian gujarati sweet made with besan and ghee. It had perfect amount of sweetness and was baked to the perfection in the almond pie. It was rich in texture and taste. It melted in our mouth in the very first bite. A must have at the restaurant!!

Rose kheer icecream - rose kheer made super creamy and frozen served as an...

Twisted Roots... What a place I must say. Wonderful ambience, great food and perfect location ( well that is subjective, since it's about a mile from my home, it only seems like a perfect location) .

Let's talk about the food.

The mocktails : Root Beer drink ( apologies for not remembering the exact name) I ordered the Root beer drink ( Non Alcoholic) , and to my surprise it was mind-blowing. The taste was something that you would not forget. The hint of ginger made it a perfect drink. The portion size is great , the drink was served as a beer and was almost pint size.

The food :

We ordered mostly Italian and I must admit this is the best Italian I have had in Ahmedabad.

The Bruschetta : Beautiful flavour, right amount of baking and beautiful presentation. It gives you a blast of flavour in your mouth.

The Tortellini Italian is usually associated with Pizza and pasta most of the time. Generally red and white and more or less whatever you order tastes similar. There are hardly few restaurants who can make the dish do justice to the flavour. The Tortellini was a winner. Beautifully cooked, perfect flavour , delicate presentation and a * non alcoholic beer * , this could very well be a definition of a perfect mains. Kudos you guys. I might just have found my regular order. Thank you.

Pav bhaji with a twist : Ahmedabad and pav bhaji go hand in hand. For major part of my life growing up as a 90s kid Pav bhaji was the dish you order when you go out. And the dish still holds its following till date. What Twisted roots did to the age old pav bhaji is innovative. Bhaji served in a wok Served with 4 bada pav sprinkled with some cheese. The description looks fairly ordinary but the tastes is something that will stay with you a long time. Bhaji done just perfectly, no over spices, no over butter to make it taste good. Just perfect cooking.

The Ambience: Very modern and contemporary designing of the interior. The highlight are the hanging little garden lights ( literally hanging gardens). Beautiful cozy place.

The Staff : The staff is very warm and welcoming. Great at service and all smiles. Big Thumbs up for service. And a bigger thumbs up for cleanliness.

Overall I can rate Twisted root a New Upclass fine Done restaurant in town who is hear with great flavour Arsenals and they mean business.

Apologies for not having any pictures. But next visit I will not...

Very rude and non cooperative staff. Worst experience ever.

Ahmedabad has got so many amazing places with very good customer support at cheaper rates. I will strongly recommend not to organize any function.

We have organized wedding function in the banquet and paid entire amount in the cash. Now, for marriage certificate, we need some proof that we got married at this place and requested to the owner of the restaurant that pl give it in written on their letter head as a one of the evidence which is mandatory to get marriage certificate, if they can not provide the bill. They straight forward denied that and said that they can give the same document for today's date after paying GST..LOL. we denied to support fake evidence generation and requested the document at original date. than he said you can do whatever you can.. How can you provide the document as a fake evidence of someone's marriage which has not happened at your place on that day? and why should i do wrong by changing my wedding date falsely?

If you are not ready to accept that we have got married at your place on 30th April, 2021, then there should be priory communicated. How can you hide such a big event which is one of the significant evidence for us to get legal marriage certificate.

Luckily we have taken police permission and mentioned the venue, so that document worked as an evidence.

And you know what, i am going to the relevant places with photography and videography evidence, as you said, you can do whatever u can, so anyway you can not hide this significant information.

Very ridiculous behavior.

Not supportive at all for anything starting from the event.

The only good thing T found was...

Twisted Roots is a venture by the owner of popular caterers V Purohit. Located near Bopal flyover Bridge the restaurant has a unique concept of being environment friendly and is based on the idea of Going Green. This cafe cum banquet Hall restaurant gives off amazing vibes. The name "Twisted Roots" is very fitting in both ways: it houses a number of plants and trees & served Indian food with a twist. Also, it has indoor seating as well as outdoor seating which makes the restaurant more attractive. Coming to ambience, it is done very tastefully and has a number of plants to give environmental friendly look. The menu is tastefully and tactfully designed and it caters to whole family. We had the following : Coconut Blast: Coconut based Mocktail which had coconut water added with coconut milk and served with Kulfi which was a major part of the drink. A different and pleasing experience. Garden Fresh Soup : Loaded with various veggies, this one was quite fresh. Italian Khichu shots: Decided to go with this one for starters. As the name suggests, this one was a fusion of traditional Khichu and kebabs. Crispy and well topped with salsa, this one made a great starter. Charcoaled Pau Bhaji: Basically a black pau bhaji, this dish was well made. It has enough quantity to serve for 2 and was presented very well too! Dal Batti Pot : Again, a great presentation. It comes with 4 pieces of battis and has enough quantity that can serve 2. However the dish can be made better. Overall a Great place to hangout and Spend some quality time with friends and family. Surely, value for money.

Twisted Roots is a new restaurant brought up by Bhavesh Purohit, from V Purohit caterers. As the name suggest, it brings you authentic Indian dishes with a twist – of having some modern component to it. Located on Amli-Bopal road, the space will leave you awestruck. It is combination of five things; restaurant, café, banquet, garden party plot, and a roof top space for parties/function. The theme of restaurant is garden and the ambiance has fresh plants décor. It has quite a space and includes at least 20 people at a time. Achari parcels with yellow cheese chutney: These were chotu bombs of flavors. Deep fried, they have the typical achari Indian taste which was complimented with yellow cheese chutney. Doughnut Dabeli: When I first saw this name, I thought it to be a mix of sweet and savory. But, that wasn’t the case here. It had original Kutchi Dabeli masala filled between two doughnuts shaped cottage cheese and slightly roasted. Something unique, I really enjoyed digging into it especially because it is very hard to find authentic Dabeli in Ahmedabad. Waffle Dosa with korma: The Korma has flavors from south which made it light and delightful. The Dosa’s were made in waffle pan; giving it a fluffy look and taste. You won’t find waffle Dosa anywhere else in Ahmedabad and definitely a must-try. Rajasthani ghee Bhat with Laal soya chaap: You shouldn’t miss this one out if you love Rajasthani cuisine. The soya is served in lollipop shape, served with rice that is soaked in flavors. Their service is also commendable – quick and helpful. Overall, it shouldn’t be missed.
