Food we didn't have so this rating is purely for the poor service they offered.

All we asked them was to clean the table and the floor area where we were supposed to sit. The staff cleaned the table, dropped all the food and tissues on the floor and said the table is ready. But we asked him to clean the floor too as how can we stamp on food and leftovers and sit comfortably to eat food, for that his reply was " This is what it is, can't clean any further." Which made me disappointed and surprised, all for just asking a very basic thing of cleanliness.

We just left the place and we were really lucky to find a new kathiyawadi Restaurant next to this one in Gallops food court "Satyanarayan Kathiyawadi". The service, staff, cleanliness and especially the food was fantastic!

The one star rating I have given to them is for not cleaning the table area and letting us find a much better...

We were on our way back to Vadodara via NE1. Yes it's beautiful but a boring highway. We were hungry and looking for interesting (non McD) place to eat. Sapna found Umiya Dhaba on Google maps. What a killer find! Reviews were okay and we decided to take a detour.

The entrance didn't resemble online pictures. Looked super old dhaba. We went inside, spoke to the waiter and I must say, what a nice person! He paid full attention and generous in accepting our requests.

While leaving we figured that they have a new setup, just next to the old one. I am sure it will be amazing too.

Rajwadi Dhokadi is out of this world. Quick tip: If you request them they include it in their standard thali.

Don't like the place. These days everywhere you see restaurant with 'Kathiyawadi' banner doesn't mean those relate to Kathiyawadi in any sense. I thought lets try this one as its an old and jammed with people. I also found the menu packed with kathiyawadi food items. But but but... What we received are - small and thin bajra rotla, no taste in baingan bartha, maida roti, ghee not looks good, poor quality of chaas. And when I see people's choices are sev tameta and lasniya bateta, I feel pity for them as they are not the authentic kathiyawadi sabji, they are used to be prepared during draught days.
