Baan Thai — Restaurant in Gurugram District

We ordered two non-vegetarian salads, one seafood and the other pork. Quality wise, they were both fine, but the basic taste was similar. No variety, same salad dressings used in both dishes. The main cause of complaint was the portion size, which was rather disappointing. The prices too were through the roof. I wouldn't mind paying, but expect a decent portion to munch on. For two salads, a pint of Kingfisher beer and a 500 ml bottle of water, the billed amount was 1870, doesn't justify in any way, for a food outlet in a rural setting in the middle of nowhere. There wasn't any option for normal water either. The ambience was a mix match, a Thai food outleft with abstract interiors and music was some remix by a female singer singing all male-oriented numbers. The staff was improperly attired with above-ankle trousers and cheap sneakers, no socks, somewhat resemling a dhaba. Not at all value for money. The service was bad. They are super understaffed. They didn't have half the items on the menu at 8.30 PM on a Saturday night. Main course was stale.

Edit to response to Reply : Firstly, Once we reached (Post booking the table on call) the staff kept asking who we spoke on phone and didn't give us a table for good 7 - 10 minutes while there were ample available tables. They had no record of who booked before coming. Once seated , first thing we ordered was Dimsums that were not available. We then ordered another starter and Mojito for drinks. As per them the syrup for mojito was also unavailable. The main course was uncooked and stale. We asked waiter to check that with chef and sent the dish back. He just reheated it and served it back to us. The bill given to us was also in correct - We had to get it corrected - You may check this with your staff! Bill amount of Rs 2110...

We ordered Butterfly chicken, Chicken Thai Green curry with steamed rice and a Pizza. Personally i loved the taste, aroma and consistency of the Thai green curry. My friend liked the Pizza as well.

The frappe was kind of ok, not that great.

We liked the ambiance with live music (it was a Saturday).

The service was disappointing. The attendant was murmuring that it's a Saturday so they don't allow "stags", I found it very odd! Can't two men have dinner together at a Restaurant! Restaurants need to be more inclusive.
