#Bigchillcafe #ArdeeMall #foodreview
Last evening,on kids’ requests we ended up dining (savouring our food) at the famed Big chill cafe, ardee mall. Thanks to kiddos for reminding that this needed a revisit. The place itself is vibrant and inviting.Upon entering, guests are greeted by a cozy interior adorned with rustic decor and ambient lighting, creating an ideal setting for a relaxed dining experience.
The staff at Big Chill Cafe uphold a standard of courteousness and professionalism that enhances the overall dining experience. From attentive service to knowledgeable recommendations, to even pointing that certain dishes have alcohol /pork (to which obviously our kids were too keen to take a shot),their commitment to customer satisfaction is commendable.
Now, let's delve into the culinary delights that adorned our table:
The Penne Arrabiata at Big Chill Cafe is a testament to simplicity done right. Al dente penne pasta tossed in a spicy tomato sauce infused with garlic and chili flakes, each bite packed a punch of flavors balanced by the sweetness of tomatoes. The dish was garnished with fresh basil leaves, adding a fragrant herbal note to the overall composition. The complimentary piece of rustic bread was used diligently by us to wipe off the goodness from the plates.
Penne and Prawns in Vodka Parmesan Arrabiatta-( some super tough to pronounce name) Combining the richness of seafood with the creamy tang of vodka parmesan sauce, this dish elevated the dining experience. Succulent prawns perfectly cooked and generously layered atop penne pasta, bathed in a velvety vodka parmesan sauce with a hint of spicy arrabiatta, created a harmonious blend of flavors that lingered on the palate.
The Four Fourths Pizza, a signature offering at Big Chill Cafe, is a feast for both the eyes and the taste buds. Topped with a medley of pepperoni, pork ,chicken and meat ,each quadrant of the pizza offered a distinct flavor profile. The crust was thin yet sturdy, providing a delightful crunch with every bite, while the cheese was perfectly melted, binding the toppings together in savory harmony.
Tomato and Pesto Bruschetta A classic appetizer done exceptionally well, the Tomato and Pesto Bruschetta featured toasted bread slices topped with a vibrant mix of diced tomatoes marinated in basil-infused pesto. The tomatoes were ripe and juicy, complemented by the earthy notes of basil and a hint of garlic, all resting on a crisp bed of artisanal bread.
To cap off the meal, the Irish Tiramisu at Big Chill Cafe is an absolute delight for tastebuds. Layered with espresso-soaked sponge cake and a velvety mascarpone cream, this rendition of the classic Italian dessert had a distinct Irish twist with a hint of baileys adding depth to the flavors. The dusting of cocoa powder on top provided a bittersweet contrast, rounding off the dining experience on a high
Each dish showcased meticulous attention to detail, from the quality of ingredients to the execution of culinary techniques, ensuring a memorable dining experience. Whether you're a pasta enthusiast, a pizza aficionado, or simply craving a delightful dessert, Big Chill Cafe promises a gastronomic journey that's worth revisiting.
Note to self- you need to plan this...

The big chill cafe gurgaon is not what it used to be, and no where near to one in Delhi.
I ordered a couple of desserts and pasta for my wife’s birthday, and they sent me a screwed up food. I was highly disappointed and asked for a replacement for tiramisu at least , which was 50% melted away.
They quickly took the action and sent me a replacement, but there was no improvement in the packaging again, and the tiramisu was at least 20% melted this time.
I called the manager again, he was not apologetic at all and started blabbering that tiramisu is soft blah blah.
If this item is not idle for delivery , why have they kept it in their delivery menu? When I first called them up, why didn’t they mentioned that tiramisu won’t be a good choice and they can send me some other dessert as the replacement?
The manager was very stubborn and kept on repeating the same thing again and again that tiramisu is soft, instead of giving a solution; he doesn’t cared that it’s was for birthday and not apologetic at all! He was like- ye to aisa hi deliver hota hai - 400 bucks (+ 50/- for delivery) aisa hota hai? Checkout the image attached ! Highly disappointed. Such behaviour from a manager of a reputed cafe was not expected at all!
They tried to screw up the birthday celebration, but thanks to Swiggy’s late night deliveries, I managed to order a cake from some decent cakery.
Guys, this is an honest suggestion - stay away from their delivery. They have no refund policies, poor customer service.
I’ve visited big chill n number of times. But it’s off my list now, never ever going to order/visit...
Read moreI have been a patron of Big Chill right from their initial days at East of Kailash (2005). I have also been to their outlets at Select City and Connaught Place. All those outlets have been pleasant to outstanding experiences. However the one at Ardee Mall is not up to the mark and sinks the name of the entire franchise. The service is extremely varied with some outstanding and some who should not be servers since they have no clue about whats on the menu or the pricing. The ambience is cozy and is the only saving grace. Coming to the food - the portion sizes are miniscule (better to carry a magnifying glass) and the prices are beyond what a 5 star restaurant charges. I had ordered a roasted citrus and herb chicken and it was loaded with steamed under cooked beetroots, bread, coleslaw, soggy stir fried vegetables and 4 minuscule cubes of chicken for Rs 825. The grilled baby lamb chops looked like the meat had been shaved off the ribs. Italians are known for the excellent quality of breads (like has been mentioned by other users on Zomato) and the bread served here makes the local pav bun brought at a grocery store look like a star. The interesting part is that this is probably the only restaurant that serves bread without flavored or unflavored butter (ah naughty naughty - cutting corners). What is also interesting is that despite all this it receives rave reviews - probably because anything served in Gurgaon is reviewed by the pretentious, genteel folk of Gurgaon who are used to indifferent food and will not be able to tell Harvest Gold Pav from a good quality bread. All in all an extremely forgettable and...
