A visit to Dharamshala in H.P. is incomplete without a bite at CAFE ENCONTRO run by the charming ANNU PARMAR ! It's at Sidhpur on Sheela Chowk-Yol Road and above SPACES INSIDE HOME DECOR store. ANNU's touch is visible in the pleasing ambience at Cafe Encontro and as you walk in... you are feeling hungry already..:). We had veg Thukpa ..with an abundance of vegetables & noodles, it was tasty & filling, and better than anywhere in Dharamshala! Then we followed it with a MEZZE Platter. Now the MEZZE platter, which we had for the first time, had hummus, pita bread, chickpea cutlets, beetroot dip, pickled olives (am drooling writing this already:)) and fresh salad! What a yummy tasty platter it was! For dessert we relished Blue Berry Cake which also was too delicious and we have got hooked indeed ! Then we flushed down the meal with honey ginger tea served with freshly baked cookies! Awesome experience it was ! and we have decided to have this exotic meal experience more often, whenever possible and we shall also try the new Breakfast Menu. ANNU's new MENU at CAFE ENCONTRO is exciting and a breath of fresh air in the salubrious surroundings of Majestic Dhauladhars at Sidhpur, Dharamshala...
Read moreCafe Encontro offers a cozy ambiance that invites you to linger. 🌿✨ I’ve been here before and tried their lasagna—it was decent, but nothing that stood out. This time, however, I decided to explore their mutton momo, and sadly, it was a disappointing experience.
The momos were subpar. 😕 While the outer layer was acceptable, the filling left much to be desired. The ratio of meat to onion was skewed heavily toward the latter, making the dish taste unbalanced and overly onion-forward. 🧅🥟 To make matters worse, I encountered a momo with unchewable cartilage—an unpleasant surprise that marred the experience further. For the price, you can easily find much better momos in nearby McLeod Ganj. 🙅♂️💸
That said, the coffee here is a highlight. ☕👌 It’s well-crafted, flavorful, and comforting—a reason to stop by if you’re in the area and need a caffeine fix.
Overall, while the atmosphere and coffee are commendable, I cannot recommend their momos. 🥲 There are better culinary options in Dharamshala if you’re seeking authentic flavors. For now, I’d suggest sticking to their beverages and leaving the momos for...

The chef here is an experienced one and is truly amazing. As anticipated the food is absolutely delicious and presented with care.
The pizza here is the among the best ones. It's fresh, aromatic and a delight. One other favorite of mine and surprisingly freshly made are momos. The spicy momo chutney is unique, consistent and well, spicy. I love it. I urge you to specifically request for it if you are truly a momo fan.
The cafe itself is nicely put together with quality furniture and decor that make up for a classy theme. There are a few books to read and a few table games to play while you wait for your order which does take a little while to arrive but it's totally worth it.
The views are of the Dhauladhars and the city of Dharamshala and...
