Viswanath Snacks — Restaurant in Howrah

Viswanath Snacks is one of the most popular street-style food joints in Howrah Maidan. The crowd here itself tells you how famous this place is. I tried their chicken roll and honestly, it was good, fresh, and flavorful, but nothing extraordinary. Personally, I’ve had better rolls elsewhere, especially those made with kathi kabab chicken. This one felt more like a regular pan-fried chicken roll.

That being said, food is subjective, so if you’re craving, do give it a try. You might like it more than I did.

The location is right in the busy market area, so finding parking can be tricky. On the positive side, they do have a decent number of tables for seating which makes it easier to sit and enjoy your food.

Overall, a famous spot in Howrah Maidan and worth visiting at least once to see what the hype is about.

Edit (28.08.25): Note to self—never judge a restaurant by just one dish!😅 This time I tried their Egg Chowmein and Mughlai Paratha. The chowmein was simple, nothing fancy, but the real star was the Mughlai Paratha. Honestly, one of the best I have had, the filling was thick, balanced, and perfectly cooked, not chewy like in many other places. The taste was simply heavenly. It was so good I actually forgot to take a photo—Yes, that level of distraction!

Visited for the first time in the summer of 2024 and tried mughlai paratha, and I was at a loss of words, cuz seriously it was that much amazing 😍. The behaviour of owner and other staff was also nice and polite.

This year i.e. 2025, I visited yesterday and tried the same dish and no doubt it was all the same, the behaviour and everything..

Will highly recommend anyone if they just want to enjoy the food and ignore...

Totally wastage of money....very poor ambience & tasteless food.......
