My recent experience at Hotel Kinnera Grand presented a mixed bag of impressions, with notable strengths and areas that could benefit from improvement.
Let's start with the positive aspects. The ambience at Kinnera Grand is undoubtedly its standout feature. The ocean-themed decor, complete with live fishes, a water fountain, and a predominantly blue and wooden color scheme, creates a visually appealing and soothing atmosphere. The Friday candle dinner adds a touch of elegance to the setting, making it an ideal spot for a relaxed evening.
The culinary experience, particularly the starters, stood out. The apricot fusion dish, in particular, was a delightful surprise, showcasing a unique blend of flavors. The devil chicken and dragon chicken starters were also commendable, demonstrating a mastery of spices and textures.
However, the proficiency of the staff left room for improvement. While they were friendly, there seemed to be a lack of proper training, resulting in a somewhat disorganized service. The timing of food delivery lacked a systematic approach, with dishes being served all at once, disrupting the flow of the dining experience.
On the positive side, the staff did apologize for any mistakes made, displaying a willingness to rectify errors. This courteous gesture did contribute to a more forgiving atmosphere.
In terms of main courses, the biryani, while not matching the authentic taste of Hyderabad biryani, offered a decent alternative worth trying.
In conclusion, Hotel Kinnera Grand offers a visually appealing ambience and some noteworthy culinary delights, particularly in the starter department. While the staff may benefit from enhanced training to streamline service, the overall experience is worthwhile, especially for those seeking a unique dining atmosphere and...
Read moreI have just visited the restaurant for some takeaways to celebrate the visit of some of my close relatives from abroad. And I sincerely regret it as the entire dinner program has been ruined. I have to mention at the outset that we are pure vegetarians - both by birth and by habit. The first item that we ordered was Paneer butter masala, among several others. Imagine my shock when we opened the parcels and had the first mouthful, and found that what we got was some non-vegetarian dish instead of Paneer butter masala. I rushed to the restaurant immediately and gave the manager (Mr Susheel, I'm informed) a piece of my mind. While I've to admit that he was very apologetic and refunded the entire bill, you may well appreciate that the damage has already been done. The restaurant managements have to be very careful in handling such very delicate issues and leave no scope for such horrendous blunders. Alternatively, they may announce in advance that they don't strictly draw a line so that devout vegetarians like us don't venture to step in. It's my sincere appeal to the general public, especially pure vegetarians, to think twice before visiting this place or ordering...
Read moreThis was a 5 Star restaurant when it started. Its quality and customer service is slowly dipping though food too has detoriated in taste but just a little. I would have rated it a 4 Star but my yesterdays experience led me to mark it down. I should rate it 2 Star but my previous good experiences forced a 3.
Yesterday The rushing captain bumped into me and I almost fell, but he didn't bother and kept on without even looking back (forget a apology) We waited 20 minutes after order and then when enquired food came to us after 25 minutes of order. I needed water and no one was there so I got up went to the Waterboys table and got his waterjug to serve water myself. We served our own food as the waitress was too busy with other tables. We waited 10 minutes before some one got a bill. Waited another 5 minutes before some one collected the cash and that too once we called them.
A meal which usually takes 30 mins here took us 1.25 minutes because of the amazing customer service.
Most old staff have left and with them has left the quality of Swagat Grand. I hope it gets back to its No 1...
