Recently visited Kolkata Food Plaza, and to be honest, the overall experience was quite underwhelming. The place is extremely small, with just about 5 to 6 tables crammed into a limited space, resulting in very clumsy seating arrangements. The cleanliness was not up to the mark either, which made the dining atmosphere feel quite uninviting.
Starting off with the service, it was just average. The staff seemed disinterested, and we even got the impression that they had forgotten parts of our order. The service speed was slow and uncoordinated, adding to the frustration.
For starters, we ordered Chicken Pakoda. It was not really what you’d expect from a pakoda — the texture and taste leaned more towards a chicken chop. The flavor was decent but not impressive. I’d rate it 5.5 out of 10.
Moving on to the main course, we had the Mutton Meal with Ghee Rice and Prawn Malai Curry. The Mutton Meal was just about average — nothing particularly bad, but nothing worth remembering either. I’d give it a 6 out of 10. The Ghee Rice was the only item that stood out a bit, with a mildly satisfying flavor.
However, the biggest letdown was the Prawn Malai Curry. It was extremely poor in quality and taste. The prawns didn’t feel fresh at all — they had an odd, possibly stale taste, which made the dish quite unpleasant. It felt like they were cooked with one-week-old prawns. The curry itself lacked any depth of flavor. I’d honestly rate it a 2 out of 10.
For dessert, we tried the Misti Dahi. It was actually decent in taste, but it felt like it had been refrigerated for too long, which slightly affected its freshness. Still, it was better than most other items we had and deserves a 7 out of 10.
Overall, Kolkata Food Plaza has a long way to go in terms of food quality, hygiene, and service. The place lacks ambiance, and most of the dishes were either below average or outright disappointing. Apart from the Ghee Rice, nothing really stood out. Would not recommend unless they make some serious...

Kolkata Food Plaza in Kondapore is a hidden gem for anyone craving authentic Bengali and Oriya food in Hyderabad. The food here is cheap and great value for money, offering a delightful experience without burning a hole in your pocket.
Some standout dishes include the Special Veg Thali, which is a flavorful and satisfying assortment of traditional dishes, the crispy and delicious Fish Fry, and the rich, comforting Aloo Mutton Curry—definitely a must-try! These dishes are packed with authentic flavors, making it one of the best Oriya restaurants in Hyderabad.
While the food is top-notch, the seating arrangement is a bit cramped, making it less spacious and a little uncomfortable during peak hours. Expect waiting time during weekends, especially for lunch. Street parking is available but can be tricky during busy times.
Overall, if you’re looking for authentic Bengali and Oriya food at affordable prices, Kolkata Food Plaza is the place to go. Just be prepared for limited seating and potential waits during the weekend...
Read moreTo be very honest, this place not at all worthy. Their price is very less but the food quality is worst. Basically, this is a place for Bengali food. So, as a bangali food lover this is totally worthless. Last time I visited, I ordered chicken roll, fish kobiraji and chicken cutlet. My total bill was 390. So, the price is quite reasonable but quality of food is worst. The fish of fish kobiraji was too old and test of fish was already gone. It's totally testless. The chicken cutlet was kind of a tost of ginger and garlic. Very hard to find chicken in that. Chicken roll was like better than nothing. They use chili chicken pieces for roll and the maida was not cooked well. It felt like raw. Additionally, the ambience is not good at all. Wooden chairs are shaking when someone seating on that. Overall not at all a good experience. Price is less that doesn't mean food quality will be worst. People are ready to spend money...
