Pathemari Kerala Restaurant in Hyderabad is a culinary gem that brings the flavors, traditions, and warmth of Kerala to the heart of the city. My recent dining experience at this restaurant left me thoroughly impressed with its authentic cuisine, inviting ambiance, and the nostalgic journey it offered through the rich culinary heritage of Kerala.

From the moment you step inside, the restaurant's decor transports you to the serene backwaters and lush landscapes of Kerala. The attention to detail in capturing the essence of the region is truly commendable. The cozy seating, wooden accents, and traditional artifacts create an atmosphere that is both welcoming and immersive.

The menu at Pathemari is a delightful exploration of Kerala's diverse culinary repertoire. With a variety of vegetarian and non-vegetarian options, the restaurant caters to a wide range of palates. From the iconic Kerala Sadya to the flavorful seafood specialties, each dish is a testament to the skilled chefs' dedication to preserving the authenticity of the cuisine.

During my visit, I had the pleasure of trying the Appam with Stew—a dish that encapsulates the delicate balance of flavors Kerala cuisine is known for. The appam's soft center and crispy edges paired harmoniously with the fragrant and subtly spiced stew. The Alleppey Fish Curry was another highlight, with its bold tamarind-infused flavors that transported me to the coastal towns of Kerala.

The service at Pathemari is attentive and friendly, adding to the overall pleasant dining experience. The staff's knowledge about the dishes and their willingness to assist in making choices ensured that each dish was not just a meal but a culinary journey.

The restaurant's commitment to quality ingredients and traditional cooking techniques is evident in every bite. It's important to note that the authenticity of Kerala cuisine might mean that some dishes are spicier than what you might find in typical Indian restaurants. However, the flavors are well-balanced and offer an authentic taste of the region.

In conclusion, Pathemari Kerala Restaurant is a culinary haven for anyone seeking an authentic taste of Kerala in the heart of Hyderabad. Its inviting ambiance, rich flavors, and the attention to detail in both cuisine and decor make it a standout dining destination. Whether you're a connoisseur of Kerala cuisine or simply looking to explore new flavors, Pathemari offers a memorable journey through the delectable traditions of God's Own Country. Thank you Shihab for your...

Went because it had good references from friends who had visited earlier. I visited for the first time, to partake of the annual Onam Sadhya, and it WASN'T AT ALL A PLEASANT EXPERIENCE! The food was delicious and the service was also good. But no amount of good food and service can negate the mismanagement of crowds and turnaround time, due to greed for money and hoping that the crowd would manage itself. Obviously this cannot be a first-time experience, because the event is being conducted on a regular basis. The whole thing was mismanaged. Receipts were issued, serially numbered, and they could have been used to admit customers in order. The Google Maps page says that the banquet hall can seat 200 guests, but on reaching there we were informed that the seating capacity was 120. That by itself is also not an issue, if there was a system for admitting guests, particularly mothers with young children and senior citizens. Half the waiting guests were standing at the entrance to the hall, as if they hadn't seen food earlier! The staff were neither able to enter nor exit, nor convince the guests to move away. Guests were being admitted in two's three's and in groups as and when people exited. The organisation was very poor, there was no respect for women with small children nor senior citizens. There wasn't sufficient space to accommodate the waiting guests. Obviously with such a large crowd, the AC wasn't effective! Not a very pleasant experience for a first-timer and I, for one, WOULD CERTAINLY NOT RECOMMEND this place to the elderly and young mothers with children on such occasions where the guests have to fend for themselves. A little more thought in admitting guests sequentially according to the bill number would have saved a lot of time, and discomfort, and enhanced the reputation of the hotel. I'm sure many would have felt the discomfort and chagrin, but few will complain, because as I mentioned earlier, THE FOOD WAS INDEED DELICIOUS, and most would have thought that it was an annual affair and it's all part of the game. But I am writing this EXACTLY BECAUSE IT IS AN ANNUAL (PROBABLY BI-ANNUAL, FOR VISHU TOO) and guests, who are paying, should be treated with dignity, and serving delicious food DOES NOT DIMINISH the responsibility of managing the entry a d exit in a controlled and...

If you're craving Kerala cuisine, this restaurant is a must-visit. We had the pleasure of dining here recently and were thoroughly impressed with both the food and the overall experience.

Here’s what we ordered during our visit:

Kizhi Porotta: This dish was the highlight of our meal. It featured three or four flaky, perfectly cooked porottas, generously packed with succulent chicken and a boiled egg, all wrapped in a fragrant banana leaf. Priced around ₹200, it offered excellent value for money.

Chicken Roast: Priced similarly at ₹200, the chicken roast was another hit. The flavors were rich and authentic, with a perfect balance of spices that is typical of Kerala cuisine.

Kerala Puttu with Pappadam: For ₹80, this classic dish did not disappoint. The puttu was soft and paired wonderfully with the crispy pappadam.

Lemon Tea: We also enjoyed a refreshing lemon tea, which was the perfect accompaniment to our meal. Ambience and Service: The ambience of the restaurant is warm and inviting, reflecting the cultural essence of Kerala. The cleanliness standards were notably high, which added to our comfort. The staff, all Malayali, provided excellent service with a friendly and attentive attitude.

Other Highlights:

Rates: Considering the quality and authenticity of the food, the prices are quite reasonable.

Parking: The convenience of underground parking is a definite plus.

Location: Its proximity to the metro makes it easily accessible.

In short, if you're in the mood for some delicious Kerala food, this restaurant offers a delightful dining experience with great food, reasonable prices, and...

Hello Everyone..!! On 19 May 2022, I visited Pathemari restaurant along with my family. My genuine review pertaining to the food, service, hospitality and ambience is as appended below:- Firstly, Mr Sandeep at the counter had a healthy conversation since we are trying Kerala cuisine for the first time in Hyderabad and the same was conveyed with him and thus he allocated one of his finest service provider Mr Sameer to look after our desires. Since we were 5 (five) members, we have been given table for dining in a peaceful corner. I open -heartedly shared with Mr Sameer about our cravings / requirements. He thus suggested initially and arranged every meal in a conventional way. Fish (Tuna) and Appam with fish gravy (Slightly tangy & twisted) as a appetizer I believe. In main course puttu has been served with chole curry and kizzie parrotta (chicken) in main course followed by Kerala Parotta with mutton (beef) roast. Apart from mutton (beef) roast every meal that was on our table was beyond my anticipation. Mutton roast needs little more modifications, it may be the way it is cooked but not satisfied. A must try place for kerala cuisine in and around hyderabad. Unfortunately restaurant is abided by a fix Schedule that shuts down by 2200hrs (10pm) which seems little strange to Hyderabadis though it is a good practice. Genuine reviews Food - 4.5 /5 ambience - 4/5 Service - 5/5 (Mr Sameer) Would like to visit again to satisfy my cravings pertaining to sea food like prawns and other main courses in fish. Apropos, A nearby and a budget friendly restaurant. ;)

Pathemari Kerala Restaurant is a new found love for me, it's near to the metro station and this might become your next most favourite place for eating and conversation. The Beef curries and Beef biryani with some mango pickle(avakaya) is definitely a paradise in the mouth. The meat is so tender and delicious that it slips through your larynx like water. Surprisingly the prices are low and the food quality is something else altogether. The ambience is mixed with that of a restaurant and cafe like setting with warm ambient lights(when i went there it was like this, it may different). But do not fret about lighting and all, because you won't be focusing on anything except savoring those delicacies. There are lot of different options to choose from, sea food to regular meat. P.S. The curries are spicy as hell, in a good way! It's an adventure to finish these up. The rotis with these do not sink in, so you might want to order a few first and then see how it goes. But! Be there and give your stomach its happiness. Don't forget to enjoy the food! Food is life! Food is all we work and live for! Eat and if you like the food, just tell others too. Do not be selfish!
