Ambiance: Not so great and bad during ramzan season.

Their mix platter is the best option if you have u have 3-6 ppl in your group. 7 varities - 6pcs of each item ( Tandoori prawns, Fish tikka, Pather ka ghosh, Boti kebab, Sheek kebab, Schewan tikka kebaba, Andhra kebab) All this for Rs.1000 - VFM .

Patthar ka ghosh turned out to be chewy on both the occasions i visited.

Grilled chicken is a good option at Rs.250 the size of the chicken is good for 2-3 ppl , chicken was nice and juicy , usually if it on the rotisserie for a long time , then it becomes dry , didnt get that over here.

Ordered for Laham mandi and was informed that it is a spicy dish and I was profoundly amused as it is not (The original recipe i.e) still went ahead and ordered it, it was an average fare, people who migrate from biryani to mandi/khabsa would find it the right fit from their transition

Marg : Was an okay dish, nothing like what you get in the typical muslim weddings though. Overall if you wanna have it and don't have any wedding invites, then go for it.

The rumali roti and the tandoori roti is Rs.20 each, competitors and other decent to big hotels still keep em at Rs.10

The chicken biryani at Rs.200 is also steep, the quantity offcourse is huge. the taste is not that good at all. I have had people swear that the places serves amazing biryani and I tried it two times but it is just plain and simple average at best.

Mutton biryani - few pieces of mutton but hardly any meat on them, if we removed all the mutton from all the pieces and combine it then it would make a piece, paying for 6+ pieces and eating one, wrong maths

Haleem - Had it last year and this year as well, it will not feature in my top 10 or top 20 list for that matter.

Overall: Kebabs, Grilled chicken, Indianised Arabic food, Chicken biryani - Those are the items that can...

We visited this place early morning today with my friend, intent on trying their paya - it's a spot I've known for quite some time, marking this as my first actual visit. We ordered paya accompanied by roti bun; while the taste was good, it wasn't as hot as we had expected, which was a slight letdown.

I believe this establishment operates 24 hours, catering to customers at various times of the day. It's located on a busy road, and consequently, parking can be a little tough - visitors might need to plan accordingly for parking challenges. The seating arrangement is congested and reflects a typical Hyderabadi style, adding to the local flavour of the dining experience.

Upon arrival, it's evident they're geared up to serve promptly, with plates ready. In the early morning hours, menu items like paya, kheema, and kopdi are available, suggesting they offer some traditional morning fare. The place benefits from good ventilation and good lighting, contributing to a reasonably comfortable ambiance.

In terms of facilities and options, there are no high-rise chairs, indicating a fairly traditional setup. They don't appear to have a kids menu or gluten-free options, suggesting a more straightforward, traditional food focus. Also, it's not an all-you-can-eat establishment, so diners would...

I have went to this hotel almost 3Years back last, now when I have revisited here to buy Paya + Sherwa the quantity is very low & the most important thing is this Hotel is still uneducated whereas India is developing slowly Slowly in payments towards digital India and small thelas & poor business vendors are developing towards the transactions but this restaurant still in 1990's as when I gone here to bought breakfast as a parcel the counterman said 'ONLY CASH PAYMENTS' No Paytm, Upi Or debit cards etc., I had to visit nearby ATM and had to make the payment, this is called Uneducated staff & Management of Hotel especially in OLD City as it's undeveloped area like the same Undeveloped & Illiterate Hotel Management... Never going to visit this type of Hotel also the taste was so poor of Paya (Nahari) Hence, I recommend SHAH GHOUSE in taste of all the food items as well as Bill payments made easier by them but not this Sohail Hotel (The Uneducated/Illiterate Hotel (Staff & Management)... 0Stars I would like to give but there's no option that's why...

The restaurant looked appealing from the outside, but upon entering, it was extremely crowded with no available seating. After waiting for some time, we finally got a seat in the corner, but it was right next to the cooking station, making the atmosphere noisy and a bit uncomfortable. The waiters were neither friendly nor respectful, and the service was quite slow. However, the food made up for the experience—we ordered Paya, Chilli Prawns, and Naans, all of which tasted great. The flavors were well-balanced, and the preparation was good. For dessert, we tried Khunafa, which was delicious with the perfect texture and sweetness. The restaurant had functional washrooms, and the lift was working fine, adding to the convenience. However, what stood out was the shift in the staff's behavior during billing—they suddenly became more respectful and even asked for a tip, which was amusing. Overall, while the overcrowding, delayed service, and lack of hospitality were disappointing, the food was enjoyable, making it a mixed experience.

Sohail seems to be back to old taste ! Experience based on last 4 dinner visits in 2023 mostly Friday's or Saturdays. Sohail food used to extraordinarily good back 20 years ago. As the biryani boom grew, taste started to deteriorate over the years. But, looks like both the quality and taste seems to getting back. My experience is based on typical hyderabadi dishes - Chicken/Mutton Biryanis, Pathan Ka Ghosh (Goat), Tandooris. Meat quality and spice levels are perfect, the location is very hygienic. Comfortable for Families, even with children or seniors. Very friendly staff and fast service. The most revisits from my side were for the biryani salan, it's simply superb ! Desserts wise the newly trending ones like Kunafa and Umm-E-Ali are must try. BTW, chai is always good here. Usually, most items I order are either excellent to above average. Biryani flavors are nostalgic, if you are really bored or mandis and want to give Sohail another try, I would recommend trying again, just because it's SOHAIL.
