A Glass Onion is something that would have layer after layer peeled away, only to realise that it was transparent all along. Deep but if you want a detailed understanding, please look up Google.
This place was referred to us so we decided to visit.
The entrance didn't have any signboards, so in case you need a landmark, it's inside "Boulder Hills', there aren't any sign boards at all to direct someone visiting for the first time. So that was a major issue.
The entrance is pretty decent and walk inside gave hope to something good, either a high standard in service or really good food. We aren't really bothered with the interiors as such as many new launches have either a European Contemporary design or the Art written all over their walls so much that by now you're used to the same gimmick.
We were on time around 12:30 pm ish, no one at the entrance, we walked around, seated ourselves outside, made ourselves comfortable and waited for someone to approach us with a menu or whatever norm it is to normally welcome self-seated guest. Well, nothing happened for more than a few minutes and we started looking around as there were 4 other tables doing the same thing, looking for someone to come and start our visit there.
Finally after we finished our nicotine sticks we saw someone walking out and we asked for menu's and water.
By the look of the place you would expect a decent starter menu unfortunately we were in for a shock to see mostly old school food ( I mean unless Tikka and Taco's are new in our society) but don't go there expecting anything but the same market food that's sold everywhere else. Well not having a choice we decided to take whatever is best and ordered for the Mezzeh Platter and A Roasted BBQ Chicken Pizza, I forgot to mention that while we were seating ourselves near the bar that has a Pizza Baking Brick Oven, we saw two Commi Cooks rolling pizza dough, rolling I mentioned as pizza dough is never rolled with a Chapati roller, it's hand done, or for most of my life and experience with food, I've seen that done. Back to the remaining part.
We got our platter, I'd rate that a 3/10 for flavour, portion size, taste and plating. The Chapati rolled Pizza came, with no, no whatsoever clue that the Chicken was Barbaqued and no sauce that hinted any flavour of the same. I'd rate the pizza 2/10 as nothing was as close to what the name suggested.
The burger was a version of fried minced meat topped with a dry bun I'm assuming a few days old and cucumber and mayo to supposedly add flavour and taste to it.
The Chicken Breast steak was a joke well served except for the mashed potatoes served with Capsicum, who remembers eating Steaks with Capsicum raise your hand? No beans, Carrots and two pieces of Broccoli to add colour to the dish was an amazing idea. Why the mushroom and black pepper sauce was used so so sparingly and so less will be another chapter for them to discuss and let me know.
The cocktails are a personal opinion and may vary depending on how vastly you've tasted cocktails so if you know your drinks, you'd say they're taking you on a royal joy ride and make you believe those are cocktails.
Lastly, Desserts, we ordered for the one thing you can't get wrong, Blueberry Cheese Cake, someone in the baking department lost his marbles while baking this as neither the "Blueberry Sauce' that was used to plate it was sufficient nor did the cheese cake taste anything like it says, Cheese Cake.
I'd definitely not recommend this place to anyone else and warn you all beforehand, Enter at your Own Risk.
I so deeply rooted for a good meal and for a small group travelling 25 odd kilometres willing to spend 10-14 k for good food, I'd say they definitely broke my heart.
Well hopefully they see this and change fast or they'll definitely be like the golf course they're sitting on, open only for members there and people who don't have a...

We have been trying to book a table for almost six months now but they only book tables one week in advance. I guess it is a good strategy to get people thinking they are elite and need to deserve the place.
At the outset, we loved the approach to the restaurant and the ambience was also awesome when we entered, however, this is anything but fine dining
The host at the entrance just said table no 14 and we had to enter and find it....after checking with people
No one comes to take your order , you need to scan the menu and order it on the phone itself. Prices are exorbitant for the service and offering.
The food however was really good, and that covered all sins.
We then asked someone to take our pic, and they hesitated and said, someone else will come and take it. Finally another came, however , took two pics and returned the phone as if they were really busy attending tables...but then...you do it on your phone, so why busy???
We had the Korean waffle fries for starters....nothing exceptional but the taste had authentic Korean flavours
We also had some lasagna (good but they use lamb and not mutton and hence if u are ok with the taste and smell of lah'umb...then go for it)
The pizza was the best I would say, wood fired, crisp, and awesome flavour. They should give oregano and chilli flakes or Tabasco without asking....but we got it after we asked.
We ended with some red Thai curry and jasmine rice.
Lovely flavour...however the rice is not authentic, it is sticky rice from Shillong and not Jasmine rice..trust me I know. Definitely worth a try.
No one comes to ask you if you need anything else....and so if you want anything....go to the phone and order it for crying out loud!!!
We paid and were leaving when we saw the dessert array...and got tempted to eat more.
I asked the waitress there ...but she said, wait someone will come
No one came!
And after five minutes ...we decided to leave even informing the hostess who didn't care that we were leaving.
Overall... definitely hyped up. The food is excellent and comes to you really fast too...however the service causes indigestion.
One time try....yeah why not. But then there are so many better places that will give The Glass onion a run. Try...
