Moti Mahal — Restaurant in Jabalpur

I visited Moti Mahal for dinner. What was supposed to be a peaceful succulent meal turned out to be a peaceful yet chaotic memory. The ambience of the place is very poor as the place requires an urgent makeover or a decent paint job. The music playlist needs a change. The place had a decent number of guests. It was not crowded nor there was any waiting but the service was poor. The staff was inattentive, there were no tissues till the end of the dinner even the table mats were stained. We were two people but somehow we were served only a single finger bowl. The cream of mushroom soup, garlic butter and chilly prawns were good starters but there was no sauce or dip with it. The paneer makhani was sad there were 5 lonely cubes of paneer floating in a rich gravy...sadly such gravies are not served as railway food too. There were no accompaniments like onions or pickles or any sauce with the starters and main course. These accompaniments are pretty standard things which even small roadside eateries serve. Overall one star is for the existence of the place and the second star is for the good prawns and soup. We randomly visited this place, we didn't have any idea, on entering it was an average looking place we have to ask many people to get to a waiter or manager wether it's open or not. Finally we got a place and ordered soups and papad were average, then came starters I was literally amazed we tried stuffed chicken and stuffed mushrooms, out of them stuffed chicken is just amazing it's the best stuffed chicken I have ever eaten. Main course are also good taste wise, one downfall is the rotis I don't know how prepare them but it will like jail rotis very fluffy and hard to eat, and was served cold that ruins the main course for us.

This place is awesome for group parties with friends, they have amazing food taste and open top terrace where you can enjoy awesome time with your group, since there are very few places in Jabalpur city where you can have drinks together with food, though they don't get you drinks but you can carry or order from nearby alcohol shop.. Even you can enjoy hukka inside the booked rooms, turms and conditions may apply. You can book an entire room if you have a group of nearby 10 people where you will even enjoy better, they provide sound box or You can say DJ, they have small pub like room, and also small arrangement of seating for dinner and food for couples, even for families.
