This is my first food review compelled after dining at KCCo. This review is from a customer who is from Delhi and ate "Non-Veg" at a Jaipur restaurant of the Company.
The plate used in restaurant is not smooth. It has designs with lines. I just want to know, how you people clean them? I had hygiene concern. Why heavy crockery is being used, do you people pay extra to servers for carrying these heavy crockery?
No cloth napkin was provided.
Pieces in chicken curry were not curry cut but standard eight cut ! Why ? You people want customer to struggle on plate while you can keep nice accounting of chicken stock i.e. 4 pcs in half and 8 pcs in full, bhai 1 piece kaha gaya...Bhel saab teri salary mai se kaat lenge ! If you people are so concern with accounting, serve full uncut chicken to customer with a long knife, they will cut it to their own satisfaction. Please note - 90% restaurant in Delhi serve curry cut and not standard cut.
I ordered two chicken and one mutton curry - gravy of two of them were same. If you people don't know difference in tawa chicken and curry chicken or masala chicken , reduce number of items from menu. Bhel saab, Delhi mai prem dhaba, changezi, rajender dhaba, karim's, nizamudin, chandni chowk ya karol bagh ki galiyo mai bhi kabhi khana khao ! You people will learn differences. If you are serving Mughlai, expect that it will be reviewed by a hardcore Mughlai fan from Delhi. Or if you cannot cook, rename items as "KCCo's special chicken".
No doubt, curry masala (not the chickens) was slightly undercooked. Ask any lady customer in your restaurant about it, they will confirm it and elderly one can even give you advice on "How to know when masala is cooked !". Masala of tandoori chicken was also uncooked (reviewed by my 10 yrs daughter). Afghani chicken was near to perfect.
Karol bagh's street chicken sellers are better than KCCo, however being in a state with least poultry consumption in India, they are better off then others. One of the Jaipur restaurant served me boiled chicken as tandoori chicken after getting it micro for 20 minutes. As the consumption of poultry in state will improve, KCCo will be at disadvantageous...
