I recently dined at TVG and have some mixed feelings about the experience. While the food was undeniably delicious, there were several significant drawbacks that left me somewhat disappointed.
Firstly, the service was notably slow and unresponsive. It took an unnecessarily long time for the staff to take our orders and even longer for the food to arrive at our table. We had to wait for what felt like an eternity before our meals were finally served. This delay in service made the dining experience less enjoyable, especially for those who were hungry and no crowd at restaurant.
Secondly, I was disappointed to learn that the restaurant refused to accept Paytm or honor Dineout deals, despite them being advertised and promoted. This came as a surprise and was quite frustrating, as many customers, including myself, might have chosen the restaurant specifically because of these payment options or deals. The lack of transparency in this matter was disappointing and left a sour taste in my mouth.
Moreover, the presence of flying ants hovering over the food was a major turn-off. It was not only unsanitary but also alarming, as it indicated a lack of proper pest control measures in the restaurant. This issue significantly affected our ability to enjoy the otherwise delicious food.
Another aspect that the restaurant lacked was proper hygiene facilities. After finishing the meal, I expected there to be a provision for hand washing or sanitizing, especially given the ongoing focus on cleanliness and health. However, to my surprise, there was no such facility available. This left me feeling uncomfortable and somewhat concerned about the overall hygiene standards maintained by the restaurant.
Despite these drawbacks, I cannot deny that the food was absolutely delicious. The flavors and presentation of each dish were commendable, and it was clear that the chefs had put considerable effort into creating a delightful culinary experience. The taste of the food was undoubtedly the highlight of the entire meal.
Overall, I must say that my experience at this restaurant was disappointing. The mouthwatering food alone cannot compensate for the delay in service, refusal to honor advertised deals, lack of handwashing facilities, and the presence of flying ants around the food. I sincerely hope that the management takes immediate action to rectify these issues, as they have the potential to drive away customers and tarnish the reputation of an otherwise promising dining...
Read moreAfter visiting all the monuments for the day, we stopped at this place for lunch; as suggested by our driver. Even though it was a vegetarian-only place, we decided to have a Rajasthani Thali once again!
Situated along the main road, TVG is easy to spot but parking could be a challenge if you have your own vehicle. The restaurant is pretty nice. The overall ambience is good and it has a proper seating capacity too. It had that casual, family-friendly vibe, making it a decent spot for lunch or dinner.
The Rajasthani Thali arrived with all the usual elements. The flavours were nice but compared to some of the other thalis we had in Jaipur, this one didn’t quite hit the same mark. It was still enjoyable, just not something that left a lasting impression.
Alongside the thali, we ordered Kadhai Paneer with some extra tandoori rotis. The paneer itself was soft and fresh and the gravy had a good balance of spices. But again, it didn’t stand out for me, just a standard, well-cooked dish that worked fine for the meal but wouldn’t be something we’d rave about later. The tandoori rotis, however, were great! They paired well with the paneer, making it a satisfying addition to our lunch.
Service was fine and the restaurant itself is a convenient option if you’re in the area and unsure where to eat. If you’re nearby and looking for a casual vegetarian meal, TVG is a solid pick that does the job...
