Restaurant Review: A Mixed Bag of Exceptional Food and Disappointing Service
I recently dined at Amigo’s with high expectations, given the glowing reviews I had read about their cuisine and ambiance. Unfortunately, my experience was a mixed bag. While the food and atmosphere lived up to the hype, the service left much to be desired.
Ambiance:
Let's start with the positives. The ambiance at Amigo’s is truly remarkable. As soon as we stepped in, we were greeted by a warm and inviting atmosphere. The decor is tastefully done, with a perfect blend of modern aesthetics and cozy comfort. Soft lighting, comfortable seating, and an elegantly designed interior make it an ideal place for a relaxed meal. The attention to detail in the decor reflects a genuine effort to create a memorable dining experience.
Food:
The highlight of our visit was undoubtedly the food. The menu offers a diverse selection of dishes, each crafted with care and precision. We started with the appetizers, and they set the tone for what was to come. The flavors were bold, the ingredients fresh, and the presentation impeccable. The main courses were equally impressive. Every dish we ordered was a culinary delight, showcasing the chef's expertise and creativity. The portion sizes were generous, and the food arrived at the perfect temperature. It was clear that the kitchen staff takes pride in their work, and it shows in the quality of the food.
Drinks:
Unfortunately, our experience with the drinks was less than satisfactory. We ordered a passion ginger mojito , expecting a refreshing and flavorful beverage. However, the drink we received lacked any discernible passion fruit flavor. When we brought this to the attention of our server, their response was dismissive and unhelpful. We were told, "This is how it's made," with no offer to rectify the situation or provide an alternative. This was disappointing, especially considering the high standards set by the food.
Service:
However, the positive aspects of our visit were overshadowed by the service we received. Our server was incredibly rude and unprofessional, which significantly detracted from our overall experience. From the moment we sat down, it was clear that the server was not interested in providing us with a pleasant dining experience. Their demeanor was curt and dismissive, and they made us feel like an inconvenience rather than valued customers.
When we asked for recommendations, the server responded with a tone that bordered on condescending, making us feel unwelcome and uncomfortable. Throughout the meal, they were inattentive and seemed annoyed whenever we requested something, whether it was an extra napkin or a simple clarification about a dish. This level of rudeness is unacceptable in any setting, let alone in a restaurant that prides itself on offering a top-notch dining experience.
Conclusion:
In summary, while Amigo’s excels in terms of food and ambiance, the service we encountered was a major disappointment. It's unfortunate that such a promising dining experience was marred by the behavior of a single staff member . I sincerely hope that the management takes note of this issue and addresses it promptly. Exceptional food and a beautiful ambiance deserve equally exceptional service.
Would I return to Amigo’s ? The food and atmosphere are certainly worth it, but I would hope for a more respectful and professional service experience next time. If you're planning to dine here, perhaps consider visiting during a less busy time when the staff might be less stressed and more attentive.

Zero communication and accountability Desserts served in a completely ruined state, and no proper handling or apology. Disrespectful remarks and attitude that made the entire experience embarrassing and disappointing.
I usually don’t write long reviews, but this experience truly deserves one , both as honest feedback for the management and as a heads-up for anyone planning to visit. We visited Amigos, Gogji Bagh around 10:00 PM, traveling nearly 10–12 km from Soura just to enjoy their desserts and dinner. Before arriving, we had already placed an order for three Choco Blasts with vanilla ice cream. When we reached, the manager at the counter told us that only one order was ready due to some “miscommunication.” That was fine, we calmly asked him to prepare the remaining two and send all three to the dining area since we planned to dine in. While we waited upstairs and even placed an additional pizza order, one of the waiters came and bluntly said the Choco Blasts couldn’t be served in the dining section because “takeaway and dining are billed separately.” This was confusing since we had clearly told the counter staff to serve them for dine-in. Despite explaining this multiple times, the waiter refused and even called someone downstairs just to double down on his refusal , completely ignoring what we had already discussed. We went downstairs to clarify, but the manager flat-out denied that we’d ever told him to send the desserts upstairs, which was completely untrue. We didn’t want to argue, so we simply took all six boxes (three desserts and three ice creams) upstairs ourselves to eat them as they were. When we opened them, all three Choco Blasts were completely ruined, messy, burst, and nothing like a proper dessert. We called a waiter to show him, but he just shrugged and said, “This isn’t our order, it’s takeaway, talk to them downstairs.” So, again, we went down to the counter and showed the manager. Instead of apologizing, he responded rudely and unprofessionally, saying things like: “Ye toh pata hi tha aisa hoga.” “Mujhe pata tha aap log problem karoge.” “Aapki galti hai.” “Humne try kiya shift karne ka, tab hi damage hua.” Even if that last part was true, there’s a right way to communicate with customers. The attitude and tone were absolutely unacceptable. At one point, another staff member even muttered, “Tohe chiv na yi phatrevthi kiyon,” which was extremely insulting and unnecessary. Despite all of this, we still stayed calm and told them, “No problem, just give us these as they are and let us know the bill.” The person at the billing counter then said, “We’ll replace it for you; please wait 10 minutes.” But while we waited upstairs, we could clearly hear the kitchen staff complaining loudly: “Closing time chu vane kati banav,” “Karu order cancel,” “Yaha nahi banega ab naya.” That moment summed it all up. It was obvious that everyone from the kitchen to the counter was only focused on closing for the night, not on serving customers properly. After traveling so far, being treated like this was honestly disheartening and embarrassing. It wasn’t about the ruined dessert it was about the rude behavior, poor communication, and total lack of respect for customers. Restaurants aren’t just about food. They’re about service, attitude, and how customers are made to feel. Sadly, this visit to Amigos,Gogji Bagh failed on all three fronts. I really hope the management reads this and takes it seriously train the staff, improve communication, and remind everyone that customers, especially those who travel far and come with good intentions, deserve basic respect...

ZERO ACCOUNTABILITY
ZERO COORDINATION BETWEEN DEPARTMENTS
Our experience at Amigos, Gogji Bagh, was so disappointing that I feel compelled to share it, both to provide feedback for the management and to warn others.
My friends and I traveled over 10 km from Soura to enjoy a late dinner and desserts, arriving around 10:15 PM. We had pre-ordered three Choco Blasts with vanilla ice cream, asking for take away. However, when we arrived, the manager informed us that only one dessert was ready due to a “mix-up.” We were fine with waiting and asked them to prepare the other two and send everything to the dining area now.
While waiting upstairs and having a pizza we ordered due to compulsion, a waiter abruptly told us that the Choco Blasts couldn’t be served in the dining section because “takeaway and dine-in are separate.” This was confusing since we had explicitly told the counter staff we will be dining in now since it was chilly outside. Despite explaining this multiple times, the waiter was dismissive and even called someone downstairs to back up his refusal, ignoring our earlier instructions.
Frustrated, we went back to the counter to clarify with the manager. He was shockingly rude, denying we ever mentioned dining in and acting as if it was our fault. His attitude was arrogant and unprofessional, making us feel like we were at fault. We decided not to argue, took the six takeaway boxes (three desserts, three ice creams), and carried them upstairs ourselves.
When we opened the boxes, the Choco Blasts were a complete mess—smashed, leaking, and barely resembling the dessert we ordered. We showed a waiter, who shrugged it off, saying, “It’s a takeaway order, talk to that counter only.” Back at the counter, the manager’s response was even worse. He blamed us, saying things like:
“Yeh toh hona hi tha.” “Aap log problem he karte.” “Takeaway mein aisa hota hai, hum kya karein?” “Ye tou aapko phataakei he khaana haina, tou khaao aise ab isme natak kya karna hai”
His tone was condescending, and he made no effort to apologize or fix the situation. Another staff member even muttered something insulting in Kashmiri, which was completely uncalled for.
Trying to stay calm, we said, “Fine, just give us the bill.” The manager then offered to replace the desserts if we waited 10 minutes. But while waiting, we overheard the kitchen staff complaining loudly:
“Closing time hai, ab kya banayein?” “Order cancel kar do.” “Naya nahi banega ab.”
It was clear they were more concerned about closing than serving us properly. The entire experience felt rushed, disrespectful, and utterly lacking in customer care.
After traveling so far with high expectations, we left feeling humiliated and let down. Amigos isn’t just about food—it’s supposed to be about hospitality, but the manager’s arrogance, poor communication, and staff’s dismissive attitude ruined it all.
I hope the management takes this seriously, trains their team on basic courtesy, and ensures better coordination between takeaway and dine-in services. Customers deserve respect, especially those who come with excitement and trust in your brand. Sadly, this visit was a...
