Pahalwan's is a restaurant and sweet shop that boasts several outlets throughout Jammu city. The particular outlet under review offers a comfortable seating arrangement on its first floor, allowing patrons to savor their delicacies at leisure.
For my dining experience, I opted for a variety of dishes: Chana Bhatura, Pasta White, Amritsari Kulcha, and Lassi. The meal began on a promising note, as the Chana Bhatura and Lassi were promptly served within 5 minutes of placing the order. These items were enjoyable and left a favorable impression, meriting a rating of 4 out of 5.
Subsequently, after a brief wait of 10 minutes, the Pasta White was brought to my table. The presentation was appealing, and the taste lived up to expectations, garnering another 4 out of 5 rating.
However, the highlight of the meal turned out to be a disappointment. The Amritsari Kulcha, accompanied by Chana, took an unexpectedly long 15 to 18 minutes to arrive. This extended waiting period significantly detracted from the overall dining experience. To make matters worse, when the Amritsari Kulcha finally made its appearance, it was served unceremoniously on a steel plate, reminiscent of a prison meal setup. The authenticity of the dish itself was questionable, as the Amritsari Kulcha did not resemble the traditional version at all, appearing more akin to a stuffed Roti.
In summary, my visit to Pahalwan's was a mixed bag. While the initial dishes such as Chana Bhatura and Pasta White were enjoyable and promptly served, the delayed and disappointing presentation of the Amritsari Kulcha cast a shadow over the overall impression. This specific outlet might need to address its timing and authenticity issues to offer a more consistent and satisfying...

Read moreDisappointing Experience at Pahalwan’s Talab Tillo Branch
I’ve been a long-time customer of Pahalwan’s, considering it one of the most reputed sweet brands in Jammu. However, my recent visit to the Talab Tillo branch left me quite disappointed. I purchased 3 kg of sweets intending to gift them to three different guests. To my surprise, when I asked for three separate carry bags to match the three packages, the staff hesitated and even refused, stating that carry bags cost more than the sweets and I should put all three boxes in a single bag.
This not only created an awkward situation for me, but it also diminished the experience of presenting sweets from such a renowned brand. Proper packaging should be a basic part of customer service, especially when people are buying for gifting purposes.
While I understand that businesses have costs to manage, it’s disappointing to see that Pahalwan’s would compromise customer satisfaction over something as simple as carry bags, especially when customers are spending a good amount of money on their products. I hope the management reconsiders this policy to maintain the...
