Today Went with family there during lunch to Celebrate Raja, an Odiya festival after Looking at all the positive reviews- as my wife is Odiya. The ambience is good, however the food and service is at worst. We ordered dahi bara aloo dum - an Odiya speciality, one veg and one non veg Odiya thali and bhapa ilish. The service is very poor, we had to wait for 45 minutes to get our food. The place was crowded but not full. Even then when our order came it was not complete, the items in the thali were not given at one go, some of items came when we almost finished our meal. Except dalma all other preparations were cold. Now let’s come to the taste. Dahi bara aloo dum was not at all odiya style- the bara were very hard, there was not even an ounce similarity of taste of what you get even at the street vendors of Bhubaneshwar or Cuttack. While the quantity were sufficient in Thali but the taste was not at all what we were expecting. The Karela bhaja was heavily undercooked, the pithau were ice cold and very hard, bhujias were also undercooked. Bari Chura had no garlic or chilli or salt. It was just a coarse powder of fried Bari. The only thing which taste better was the saag. The bhapa ilish was a shame preparation, it was a small ilish piece in Kasundi gravy, and when I say gravy it was almost watery, the pungent taste of Kasundi was so overwhelming that we could not eat even the fish properly. It ruined our planned Sunday lunch as well as the Raja enthusiasm. None of the items were authentic. I cook better food that the cooks (not calling them chefs as it would an insult to the term) at...
Read moreI visited Vreehi today, and it turned out to be a delightful culinary experience. The food was flavorful, well-presented, and left a lasting impression.
What I ordered:
Butter Naan: Soft, fluffy, and perfectly charred, these were a great accompaniment to the main dishes. Not too oily, which I appreciated.
Kadahi Paneer: A standout! The paneer was fresh and tender, cooked in a rich, aromatic gravy with just the right balance of spice and tang. The bell peppers added a nice crunch.
Crispy Paneer Chilly: This Indo-Chinese favorite was well-executed — crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, tossed in a spicy, slightly sweet sauce that hit all the right notes.
Ambiance & Service: The ambiance was warm and inviting, ideal for both casual dinners and small celebrations. Service was attentive without being intrusive — staff were polite and helpful with recommendations.
Overall: Vreehi is a great choice if you’re in the mood for well-crafted North Indian dishes with a touch of fusion. Highly recommend trying the Kadahi Paneer and Crispy Paneer...
Read moreEarlier this place used to be good , now i wouldn't recommend this place , specially if you are in a hurry . Since they have changed the chef and staff , everything has gone bad . Taste is good , but service is too slow and they also forget to follow cooking instructions. I also saw an incident where they served only one chicken piece in biryani ( full plate) and the receptionist was like 'i dont know' , she didn't even bother confirming about it from her seniors. Simple dished like khichdi take more than 20mins . They take so long to bring ' FAST' food to your table
Hope they get back their old chef , he was too polite , if anyone had any query about the food he himself came to the table and answered I was a regular visitor of this place now i dont go...
