We were 3 of us and visited Aaina Restaurant, Vijayanagar 2nd Stage, Mysuru, for a birthday dinner. We were seated at Table No. G8. Unfortunately, the experience was disappointing and did not match the reputation of this place.
The vegetarian options felt very limited in both starters and main course. Here’s what we tried: • Ghee roast egg – 7/10 (decent, but nothing remarkable) • Jalapeno onion cheese ring – 6/10 (average, could have been crispier) • Fresh lime soda (salt) – 7/10 (refreshing) • Fresh lime water (sweet) – 5/10 (too diluted) • Thums Up 300ml – pre-packed • Masala papad (2 pcs) – 8/10 (the only item that stood out) • Palak paneer kofta – 4/10 (bland, no salt, and poorly prepared) • Chilli cheese garlic naan – 5/10 (flavors didn’t come through) • Garlic naan – 5/10 (undercooked, instructions not followed)
The service was the biggest letdown. When we pointed out that the dishes weren’t prepared properly, the waiter did not take it seriously. Instead of correcting the food, he just brought a little chilli paste and asked us to eat it with that. Even basic requests like onion slices were handled poorly we were given only four slices first, and another four only after asking again.
What made it worse was that this was a birthday dinner. The vibe was completely washed away because of the poor service and food quality. The waiter could clearly sense our disappointment from our expressions, but chose to ignore it rather than make an effort to improve the situation.
For a restaurant that is seen as premium, both the food and service fell short. The pricing also did not feel justified. This was meant to be a special evening, but it ended up being a letdown.
I hope the management takes this as constructive feedback and works on both the menu quality and staff training, so that other guests don’t go through the...
Read moreMy friend and myself dinned in here for lunch. We had a reservation made through zomato app which helped us book a table for two and an additional 25% off on the bill total. The menu has a wide verity of options spanning multiple cuisines. But, the delivery is way too slow and they just served one dish first and the second one was given almost 30 mins later. This was so awkward as one of us had to wait for a long time and by the time the second dish came the first dish was cold. We asked if they would reheat and that took about another 20 mins like WTH! And the tables are so small and congested that it makes it very difficult for two people to comfortably dine in and enjoy their meal without getting clumsy. There were a lot of empty tables and we requested if we could move to a better space which was reasonably comfortable but they refused to do so stating this is the only option for two people.
The food was tasty, no lie in that but it was way too oily which was a major turn off.
One major drawback was the loud music. People come with their friends and family to dine in and spend some time together but their in-house music was way too loud to bare. However, we requested if they could reduce the volume but they refused to turn down the volume and those weren't even smooth low beats they were high pitch loud bollywood songs which certainly doesn't stand a place at a family restaurant. (FYI, if I wanted to listen to music, I could've done that at my house)
They have an open bar which is great with a lot of options.
Overall, it was an average experience considering all the aspects. Quite pricey, but considering the ambience and the hygiene maintained around, it's acceptable.
If I had to rate it, Food - 4, Ambience - 5, Atmosphere - 3, Hygiene - 5, service - 2 [very slow],...
Read moreI visited this newly opened restaurant for dinner and was seated on the first floor, which has a chic and trendy ambience 🤌. The music system is great, and they even allowed us to play our own playlist, which was a nice touch. Kent and Vicky were incredibly helpful throughout our meal, ensuring we had a wonderful dining experience. They served the food promptly and assisted us in choosing dishes from the extensive menu.
The menu offers a wide variety of both vegetarian and non-vegetarian options, with a great selection of multi-cuisine dishes. We tried several items, including Basil Tomato Soup, Manchow Soup, Spinach Garlic Dumplings, Phyllo-Wrapped Cheese, Jalapeño Onion Cheese Rings, Badami Chilli Broccoli, Chatak Patak Mushrooms, Boor Chilly Paneer, Neer Dose, Curd Rice, Garlic Naan, and a variety of desserts like Lait Chocolate Poit de Crème, Tres Leches Pistachio Cake, and Saffron Baked Yogurt with Almond Crumble.
Among all the dishes, the Tres Leches, Garlic Naan, and Badami Chilli Broccoli stood out as absolutely fantastic. I’m definitely looking forward to visiting again. It’s a great place to go with friends...
