Akshaya Mess — Restaurant in Karnataka

If you are looking forward for a great meal this is the place you should be. I'm visiting sringeri from past 15 years and until last month i was totally unaware about this place. After a tiering ride from kundapura & WCR we were looking forward for a place which fills our mamoth hunger prangs and this place just served the purpose.

This restaurant/mess is managed by a family who prepare vegetarian food and serve it on the plantin leaves in a homely manner. Though its not sathvik kind of meal it feels just right. Their meal includes payasam, pickle, palya (sabji), kosambari, papad, rice, rasam, sambar & butter milk. And it is unlimited.

Akshaya mess is the best sathvic brahmin food (home style) one can get in Sringeri. It is very close to temple gopuram. Next Bhagyalakshmi stores. Tasty food, no excessive masala or oil. One must visit if you visit Sringeri. They also sell home made appalams, chips, sambar, rasam powder, pickles etc.This is very authentic place for brahmin food.
