We recently stopped for breakfast at a Kerala-style restaurant on our way to Coorg. We opted for Neypathal and Chicken Kuruma. While the Neypathal and Kuruma were passable, I was taken aback by the price of the Chicken Kuruma, considering it was a rather standard portion size. Priced at 260, it felt exorbitant and certainly did not justify the cost. The value for money was, unfortunately, lacking, leaving me with the impression that the price was nearly doubled for what was offered. But the taste of food was good.
Moreover, the service experience was subpar. There was only one person taking orders, and it took an extended period for him to reach our table. Multiple times, we had to proactively approach the counter to place our order, which is not an ideal service setup. Additionally, the service person seemed somewhat irritable towards customers, adding a negative aspect to the overall dining experience.
In summary, while the restaurant offers a taste of Kerala cuisine, the high pricing and lackluster service make it a less favorable choice. A reevaluation of pricing and a more customer-friendly approach would certainly enhance the overall appeal of this...
Read moreI stopped by this restaurant in Gonikoppal on my way from Virajpet to Bangalore. It is clean and well maintained. It has limited seating area but good service. The food there was excellent and modestly priced too. Thalasseri style biryani and Lemon tea are the highlight here. No frills, but great taste would be one way to describe the place. A good blend of Kerala and Kodagu culture is evident from their menu. Talking about the menu, they don't seem to have a lot of them to give out to the guests. But the food comes fairly quickly without much of a wait time. Ideal for travelers to stop by for a quick yet tasty fix! Unlike the usual eateries in busy junctions the restrooms here are clean and usable! Try it out on your...
Read moreDate of visit: 22 December, 2020. Dropped by on our way to Irpu falls from Madikeri. We were expecting a regular breakfast of idli dosae, but to our surprise the place specialised only in Keralite cuisine. We were so excited knowing this. Ordered Puttu and Kadala curry first. And we were blown away by the simplicity of the dish. Heartily recommend it!! Next we ordered appam and kadala curry. The appam were next level in taste. Soft and smelled like freshly baked goodness. Both the dishes are highly recommended. The joint is small and unprecentious, but fantastic when it comes to food. They serve hot water for drinking. Washrooms were so clean and well maintained. Definitely worth visiting. This place met my...
