Had been to this restaurant multiple times and the experience has been one of the worst, cheap hopeless.
If you are going to this restaurant after looking at their rating on google or any blogs ranking, please consider a different restaurant. I visit this place every year with my friends. This is could be one of the worst places for Coastal food lovers.
After multiple visits to the hotel i made the point clear to them that i frequently visit this place an they need to improve in lot of areas. After having said again it turned to be a disaster this time.
I had ordered for Ghee roast which came in just 5 mins and i was surprised as after tasing it realized it is not the typical Ghee roast at all. the entire paste of preparation was sandy, salty and dint match the name of the dish no where close. after tasting 2pcs had to leave the entire dish on table.
Next this had ordered Pamphlet fish fry again same taste it was salty, fish was stinking already and had a very bad taste.
Ordered for Prawns pepper after eating one pc each we again landed up leaving few on plate.
Ordered the typical Kori roti and curry along with this had ordered for another chicken curry. When both the dishes came again it was a surprise. Kori roti curry and the chicken gravy which we ordered are of same taste and the worst part is both are priced at of difference of 100 each. when i asked for this at the restaurant they gave a very lame excuse as chicken curry will have more pcs and our chef had my mistake put same quantity of chicken in both the dishes.
At the end all of us was disappointed and decided not to visit this place for ever.
Bill was 2888 INR for 4 of us. and no dish was completely finished by us, it was all wasted.
This place is at the prime location is the only reason it has been surviving. My suggestion is not to try this restaurant, if your lunch or dinner has to be a pleasant one after travelling all the way to this place.
I wish there was...
Read moreWe had a pleasant lunch experience at Fisherman's Bay Beach Cafe in Malpe. The location itself is beautiful, with a cozy beachside ambiance that adds charm to the dining experience.
We ordered Prawns Biryani, Dragon Chicken, and Hongkong Noodles. Every dish stood out with its own distinct flavors. The Prawns Biryani was rich in prawns, and the rice was well-cooked, infused with the masala flavors of prawns â not just plain biryani rice with prawns on top. It tasted delicious and fulfilling.
The Dragon Chicken was another highlight â perfectly crispy and flavorful, with a good balance of spice and sweetness.
Initially, the Hongkong Noodles didn't match our taste preferences. When we requested if they could enhance the flavor, the staff was incredibly kind and welcoming. They happily took the noodles back and adjusted the spices and oil to our liking. The second serving was much tastier and satisfying. Perhaps the original preparation was authentic, but their gesture of accommodating our request made our experience even better.
Unlike some previous experiences in Malpe where even chicken dishes had a fishy smell, here every dish retained its own unique taste. The courteous service, combined with tasty food, made our visit truly enjoyable.
Would definitely recommend this place for a relaxed beachside...
Read moreI was requested by the person in charge at the counter to put together a review of the place, so here goes:
This is a shack-like restaurant on the beach which we discovered quite by chance while strolling thru the beach. There is a ground floor and a first floor. The spread is the usual mix of seafood and starters but this is where it gets fun - the preparations are quite delicately prepared, and it tastes very close to perfect. Esp if you consider the prospect of munching on some tawa fry or chicken starters overlooking the activity-filled beach or the sunset, depending on the time of the day. The juices and mocktails were quite above par, and be sure to try out the ginger lime mojito, along with the ghee roast and the pepper chicken. In addition, we found the overall ambience to be excellent, and the staff were friendly and attentive, and the service was very prompt. We'd love to come back to this place again for lunch and evening bites, when next in Malpe. Btw, the decor is quite out of the world, and the selection of music is quite appropriate to a shack-like place overlooking the sea; on both...
