We stayed at Hotel Raghu, Shravanabelagola on 28th October 2014. My comments are as below

Pro: Cheap (Rs. 550 for 3 beds in one room with attached bath) & Just in front of Vindhyagiri Hill. Walking distance (15mts) to Shri Bahubali Statue hill entrance. Has only nice Restaurant in Shravanabelagola with good South Indian snacks & South Indian meals. Also has North Indian meals, which we did not taste it. Get hot water for bath & water quality is oaky.

Cons: Rooms are dirty even though it was tried to clean. Bathroom is worst with stain. Beds are uneven & single bed for each cot. Bed sheet & blanket are clean & washed; however found some stains. Surroundings has shops & backside has small houses.

Recommendation: If possible avoid it & stay at Channarayapatna, which is about 16kms away. Bus & taxi facilities are available from Channarayapatna. If stay at Shravanabelagola necessary & has time, personally look into other lodges & decide on this. Even at Diwali time, Hotel Raghu was almost empty. If you wish to stay at Hotel Raghu ask for new...

A very simple, decent, clean and hygienic place for eating food.

Had South Indian thali (though not a typical South Indian variety) it was good with three vegetables. dal (pulses), good quality curd, a sweet kesari bath, pickle (instant), a red Chilli appalam (papad with chilly base), excellent hot chapati (full marks for the quality), rice in decent quantity. Good thing was they served additional vegetables and dal at no extra charges (maybe they do it once but not infinitely). The meal ended with hot piping Rasam to leave your taste buds in a state of happiness.

The Aloo paratha plate consisted of Two big stuffed patathas with great taste complimented with curd and Dal, limited use age of oil in preparation and balanced crispiness,. I have rarely had such parathas in Southern part of India.

Curd rice, butter milk and filter coffee were all tasty nothing that we had was regrettable.

Worth giving it a try if one visits Shravanbelegula. It's hardly 60 meters from the...

I was thoroughly impressed by owner of this hotel and restaurants. He is a thorough gentleman and person of high values. It seems that he is content with what he had got and had no greed to make quick money. He possesses a kind heart. What we ate at the restaurant attached with this hotel was best of my trip as far as taste was concerned. May be there is no restaurant of its level in town as one of my friend who had visited this place before me had told me that he was disappointed that he could not find a good restaurant at Shravanbelgola. I learned that he missed this restaurant. It is close to entry gate of doddabetta or vindhyagiri (hill that has statue of lord bahubali) so easy to find. Room tha t I got was small but served all my needs. Thanks for everything mr Bhat if you ever get to read...

This place has heart and soul. The rooms are basic, this place is old school and they even use gloss paint on the walls which they wipe. There are not dirty fingerprints around the electric switches but there is wear. This place is so old the marble on the stairs is worn, but that's the charm right. For its age it's well kept, it has character in a good, no... In a great way. As for the food. It is generous, wholesome and not smothered in oil. The staff are quirky and attentive. We extended tended our stay. We are full-time travellers and have trotted far and wide. This place is up there with the best. pls don't change ...,

This restaurant is pure veg and just before the hill Dwar. South indian, north indian food is served. Washroom is available but very small but average clean. Staff are nice and quick service. A lot of sitting place and is mostly average crowded. Breakfast lunch dinner all are served. Upi payments are accepted here. Good taste and cheap too. They immediately clean the tables as well after you are finished. They serve tea and coffee as well in steel glasses which seems very traditional. The restaurant counter has a collection of currencies from different countries. Might worth checking that out while you are making the payments.
