Trishna: When you venture out for foreign foods, while fettered by your pure veg. roots -- does your nose get more sensitive? Do you become irritable at smells you can't identify? Do you long for a vegetarianized menu of that culture? Thus is desire born for vegetarian Tibetan food. This is Trishna.

Marga: Do you look around for vegetarianized momo cafes? Why not try this claimed vegetarian restaurant inside the Golden Temple complex? Perhaps Lamas have been trained in patience for serving customers. Perhaps their hygiene is above average. Perhaps they have little use for excitotoxins like MSG or for artificial colors.

Dukkha: Really, corn starch's a bummer. Dark colored foods are not appetizing for someone from the tropics. The Gobi, the cabbage, the capsicum grown with artificial fertilizers are tasteless. You can't yell at Lamas to clean the tables and squat the flies. How can soy sauce be the foundation for a civilization? Why does the restaurant hire scruffy non-lamas? Why does the ketchup taste like colored sugar syrup? What about the favored oil -- corn, soy or bran ?? Does the Monastary's board spend sleepless nights over procuring cold wood pressed oil -- or -- do they go with the flow? And why are there so many tourists?

Nirvana: My income's from cosmic trickles and my food's earthly edibles. My worries are impermanent irrelevancies and my anxieties immaterial entrapments.

Trishna: Much agitation of the mind has caused rekindling of...

Taste is pathetic, customer management is horrible. We ordered french fries, momos, hakka noodles, thukpa, veg soup, lime soda. It is a pure veg restaurant. Momos are dried up, thick layer of flour coating .. not at all good. Veg Hakka noodles doesn't contain any vegetables. Only thick noodles are stir fried with soya sauce. Thukpa is a watery noodles with no salt and taste .. may be the worst thukpa i ever had in my life! Where as the best thukpa I had in Sikkim in Tibet kitchen. Crowd management is super messy. They do not maintain any order sequence. To get your food you have to ask a thousand times. Overall horrible food to...

When you are done looking around the magnificent monastery, taken all the selfies u possibly can, you have to take a break at this cafe, situated inside the monastery compound. Nice outside seatings and typical restaurant seating inside as well . Run by Tibetan guys. The food is fairly good and tasty. Just the teas aren't that great. We had some hot noodles, Hot steamed Momos and Thupkha which were nicely done. Oh yes, Menu is entirely vegetarian.

Nice coffee and tea. Located in the premises of the Golden Temple. This is one of the best cafes around. Lot of varieties if tea and coffee Re available. Momos are available . They seemto be quite famous since the visitors order them frequently. Service is quick . Quantity of tea is hue enough for two persons. Some other snack options are also available. Overall a good place to relax wen you come to visit the Golden Temple.

Visit to Kunphen was a real sad experience when we actually enjoyed to the fullest the views and the peaceful environment of the monastery. Coming to the food the momos lacked everything it should have had. Lacked taste, the outer skin was uncooked. It was really bad. The laphing was good though. On top of that I was served a wrong coffee and the person serving did not even bother about my query.
