Very bad experience / Très mauvaise expérience!!! (Version française ensuite)
Food was okay, a bit expensive for nothing in comparison. « Beer » was totally flat and very expensive (don’t buy any beer there). The place was really dirty and the staff are away on their phones or chilling, you need to get out of the restaurant to find them and they are uncool even if we were polite and gentle all the time. It is the first time in my life that I throw away my money without even looking at the flake waiter. We know other places in Hampi (north side) and this place is one of the worst. Very disappointed, I’m not even laughing... what a shame for Buddha. By the way this Laughing buddha is NOT related with the original one in Arambol (Goa), DON’T believe that scam.
Read moreA lot of restaurants seem to be following similar template of seating, with cushions and row-rise tables on the floor. Not sure who started the trend. This restaurant definitely seems to be the "cousin-across-the-river" version of Mango Tree Restaurant on the Hampi mainland. The seating pattern is similar, the menu layout is almost the same, they serve non-veg, and its much (MUCH!!) more expensive. We just had french fries, egg fried rice and chicken tikka masala. Nothing to complain, it was good. But I'm not sure I would recommend this place for an evening visit. Yes, the lighting and the ambience is quite trippy at nighttime, but the place is ridden with swarms of mosquitoes and bugs. Also, the restaurant does not offer a clear seating policy for smokers. So you might find yourself unwittingly second-handing someone else's joyous time. If like us, you choose to visit here by car (instead of crossing the river), be warned that the route is quite long (about 20 km), the detour road from the highway to Hippy Hampi is very bad (almost non-existent), and you'll have to give in to paid parking which costed us Rs. 50, because there's nowhere else you can just leave...
Read moreThe location had been changed, and the famous lake view of the highest rated Laughing Buddha Restaurant in Hampi is now no longer available by the lake side due to demolition.
The new location has been now at a side lane of the roadway connecting Anjanadri Temple & Sanapur lake. Don't be confused as there will not be any name plate, but just One Love Bob Marley poster. Maps updated the new location.
Food: Chicken 65 was yum, fully ghee roasted. Jeera Rice, while served hot, was too delicious. Palak rice was to its true flavors. But the only thing was that both rice plates were served without any sauce or salad, making it too dry. Please avoid tasting lemon soda.
But ordering continental breakfasts & other sizzling menus were advisable.
Ambience: Visit in the evenings. Afternoons are just too hot to enjoy the silence and peaceful surroundings. But it's a great quiet place.
Staff & Service: good but delayed. Washing areas & washrooms were neat & hygienic. Payment should be made at the counter, and offline or online modes are acceptable.
Location: Mostly no autos or vehicles available. Please visit with your own vehicles or pre plan your...
