Very bad experience / Très mauvaise expérience!!! (Version française ensuite)

Food was okay, a bit expensive for nothing in comparison. « Beer » was totally flat and very expensive (don’t buy any beer there). The place was really dirty and the staff are away on their phones or chilling, you need to get out of the restaurant to find them and they are uncool even if we were polite and gentle all the time. It is the first time in my life that I throw away my money without even looking at the flake waiter. We know other places in Hampi (north side) and this place is one of the worst. Very disappointed, I’m not even laughing... what a shame for Buddha. By the way this Laughing buddha is NOT related with the original one in Arambol (Goa), DON’T believe that scam.

A lot of restaurants seem to be following similar template of seating, with cushions and row-rise tables on the floor. Not sure who started the trend. This restaurant definitely seems to be the "cousin-across-the-river" version of Mango Tree Restaurant on the Hampi mainland. The seating pattern is similar, the menu layout is almost the same, they serve non-veg, and its much (MUCH!!) more expensive. We just had french fries, egg fried rice and chicken tikka masala. Nothing to complain, it was good. But I'm not sure I would recommend this place for an evening visit. Yes, the lighting and the ambience is quite trippy at nighttime, but the place is ridden with swarms of mosquitoes and bugs. Also, the restaurant does not offer a clear seating policy for smokers. So you might find yourself unwittingly second-handing someone else's joyous time. If like us, you choose to visit here by car (instead of crossing the river), be warned that the route is quite long (about 20 km), the detour road from the highway to Hippy Hampi is very bad (almost non-existent), and you'll have to give in to paid parking which costed us Rs. 50, because there's nowhere else you can just leave...

The location had been changed, and the famous lake view of the highest rated Laughing Buddha Restaurant in Hampi is now no longer available by the lake side due to demolition.

The new location has been now at a side lane of the roadway connecting Anjanadri Temple & Sanapur lake. Don't be confused as there will not be any name plate, but just One Love Bob Marley poster. Maps updated the new location.

Food: Chicken 65 was yum, fully ghee roasted. Jeera Rice, while served hot, was too delicious. Palak rice was to its true flavors. But the only thing was that both rice plates were served without any sauce or salad, making it too dry. Please avoid tasting lemon soda.

But ordering continental breakfasts & other sizzling menus were advisable.

Ambience: Visit in the evenings. Afternoons are just too hot to enjoy the silence and peaceful surroundings. But it's a great quiet place.

Staff & Service: good but delayed. Washing areas & washrooms were neat & hygienic. Payment should be made at the counter, and offline or online modes are acceptable.

Location: Mostly no autos or vehicles available. Please visit with your own vehicles or pre plan your...

This is the best place for a meal on the Hippie Island side of Hampi! I have been going & staying here since I found this place waay back in 2014! However, in the last 6 years a LOT has changed in the crowds that come to Hampi and in Hampi itself! I do not get the same feel as I did in my most recent visit as I have in the last few years! But few pointers - 1. It is not kid or family friendly, you will not like the place nor will we like you! This place is to sit by the river, relax, have decent food, listen to good music. I have literally fallen asleep so many times! So if you have a cranky baby or in groups that are loud and going to ruin the vibe of the place - do everyone a favour and don't go! 2. The food is average, however, compared to the food you get generally in Hampi - it's quite decent. 3. Service is slow - just spend time admiring the view or catching up with your friends 4. Lots of flies, mosquitoes in the evening - carry odomos/bug repellent! 5. Lot of people smoking and no separate areas, so if you're not comfortable with it do check! Please do check if the place is still open - High Court orders are to shut all places on Hampi Island.

A nice place to stay in Hampi as it is off the busy mainroad and makes you feel like staying on a farm. The bamboo huts with a hammock in front of the entrance are authentic and if you're not worried about spiders and other animals crawling into the hut you might enjoy your stay. There is no hot water in the huts but for 40 Rupies you can get some from the kitchen. Before 8:30am! Well known loud nationalities are not taken in, but in the restaurant they can't bei avoided. The view to the temple from the cushions of this cosy place is priceless But as a nonsmoker hard to stay there in the afternoon as apparently all smokers of Hampi gather there. As local visitors or staff are having their parties until late night, sometimes with their squirky music until dawn and widely rumorous spitting activities from early morning on, your nights might be short. Food is ok, staff rather friendly. Unfortunately lots of litter on the way to the Laughing Buddha...

The best restaurant in Hampi Island ! This is undoubtedly the best restaurant that has an array of food choices in its menu. This is the place I eat whenever I am in Hampi.. and I have never come across any dish that tasted anything less than delicious. Infact I had the best Paneer Pakoda that I have eaten anywhere but here.. however it did not taste the same last time I visited this place. Maybe that particular cook might have left or something. But overall the best among all other restaurants across that side of the river. Even if you have finished all your food, nobody would ask you to leave.. and this is what has attracted many here. You can plan guitar, carom etc or you might wana just enjoy the spectacular view that it has (especially at night). They do serve beers as well ;) The service is slow but they do have free wifi to compensate for this.
