Mamatha Hotel — Restaurant in Karnataka

I have Visited the Mamatha Hotel for Lunch and Dinner a couple of times. Went along with the team. Ordered Ragi Mudde , Mutton Fry, Mutton Kurma, Mutton Biryani and Fish Fry. Food is served on plantain leaf. Restaurant serves food in both first floir and ground floor. No card and UPI payment, cash to be tendered . It's no frills Restaurant.

Mutton Fry and Kurma were well prepared, mildly spicy with tender mutton pieces. Tasted good with Ragi Mudde. Had Mutton Biryani and Fish Fry. Mutton Biryani comes along with spicy rice with green masala with tender mutton pieces. Tasted good . Please add a dash of lemon to enhance the taste for all items. Fish fry ( Katla) was deep fried, served hot. Tasty item.

Visited again had Mutton Biryani - served hot with Mutton Serva, Raitha. Food was good, mutton pieces were tender. Dip Mutton Pieces in Serva and mix with Biryani Rice. It tastes excellent.

Overall I enjoyed the food.

Again I visited 17/05/2024, took Mutton Biryani and Mutton Kheema . Both the items were good....

The food is hyped up, but the taste is good. Very expensive for the kind of ambiance, environment and service provided. I tried the famous Chicken Biryani, which is supposed to be the best in Hassan – costed me ₹220 and the quantity was generous, but the taste was average, at best.

The service is random, slow and rude (at times). There is no "first-come, first-served" basis, nor is there any order. There's no menu card provided and if asked for one, we're ignored. At peak hours, expect a waiting time to find a seat of you're going with company or else be ready to sit at different tables as the crowd was very high during the lunch service when I visited.

It is located street side so there's no parking for bikes or cars, except on the side of the road, which happens to be Bangalore - Mangalore Highway.

Locals swear by this restaurant, but I'd visit it once and forget about it.

Be prepared to carry cash as the cashier/owner looks down on you when you request to pay by UPI. Credit/debit cards are...

Had Been to this hotel today, these fish meal cost 290/- and mutton liver 260/- chicken fry 290/- They payment is only in cash and they don't accept UPI or Card payment and looting the government by not disclosing the incom and no GST mentioned in the bill.

There was a guy name Kumar who was begger and we informed to give him food in humanity ground (as he was there for 30mins) but these guys gave him mutton meals which costs 310/- which not informed to us in prior and when they issued a bill they asked to pay 310/- for the begger meals Which is a pure scam.

When asked for the waiter he dint give any proper response and said you asked to serve food so we served it.

I highly condemned the act of this by the team as we dint had cash to pay and got to from near by ATM which is not a convenient at all in this...
