It was 9.30 pm in the night and we still had a good 60 kms to go to Chikmaglur. We missed all the restaurants on our way from Hassan Ring Road hoping to catch up something on our way but we couldn't find any. The hotel we we booked for our stay in chikmaglur informed us that they have closed the kitchen when we had called them to order food in advance. We were famished and being vegetarian, we were looking out for veg specific restaurants but couldn't find any on our way. We finally found this gem and had some sense to call them up to check if they were open. We informed that we were a family of 6 and 3 kids and we were on our way to the restaurant. The restaurant was a good 25 kms from where we were, a bit far away from Chikmaglur but the owner had so much patience to wait for us and also call us up to followup with us. We finally reached the restaurant at 10.15 pm. The restaurant had closed by 9 pm but the owner had kept it opened just because we called up. It was an awesome hospitality. Super piping hot coconut pooran poli, yummy bhajji, beetroot rasam were some highlights. We are deeply thankful to such lovely people who not only kept the restaurant opened for us but also made sure to serve us such tasty food late at night. We left the restaurant with an overjoyed heart looking at the hospitality of such good people. Thanks so much sir. Deep respect to you. You are making this world a better...
Read moreA small restaurant located within walking distance of Halebeedu temple. We visited here for lunch on a public holiday. It wasn't crowded though despite being a holiday. They had limited options for lunch - plate thali, plaintain lead thali and roti meal. We ordered a plate thali and roti meal. The plate thali consisted of a bowl of rice, rasam, sambhar, pulao, tomato gojju, cabbage palya, sheera (sweet), pickle and buttermilk along with a roti or chapati of your choice with a curry to accompany it. Roti meal consists of either chapati or akki roti served with tomato gojju and a curry. The taste was definitely good and the portion size was also good to be shared between two. Staff are friendly as well. There's limited parking space available but there's a paid parking lot nearby. Overall a good place for...
