Review of Mylari Hotel, Mysore
If you're in Mysore and craving an authentic South Indian breakfast, Mylari Hotel is a must-visit. This small, no-frills eatery has earned a legendary reputation for its soft, melt-in-your-mouth dosas that are unlike anything you'll find elsewhere.
Food:
The star of the menu is the Mylari Dosa—soft, fluffy, and generously slathered with butter, served with a mildly spiced coconut chutney. The dosa has a unique texture, almost like a thick pancake, with a rich, buttery flavor. The idlis are equally soft, and the filter coffee is the perfect way to end your meal. Everything here tastes homemade, fresh, and full of traditional South Indian flavors.
Staff & Service:
The staff is friendly, efficient, and down-to-earth. They keep the service simple but quick, making sure your food arrives hot and fresh. Since the place is always bustling with customers, you might have to wait for a seat, but the staff manages the crowd well. They are polite and ensure that everyone gets their turn to enjoy the legendary dosas.
Ambience:
Mylari Hotel has a very humble and old-school charm. It’s a small, traditional eatery with limited seating, so don’t expect fancy decor. But what it lacks in ambience, it more than makes up for with its authentic taste and nostalgic feel.
Verdict:
If you’re a fan of authentic, buttery dosas and South Indian breakfast, Mylari Hotel is an experience you shouldn’t miss. It’s affordable, delicious, and serves some of the best dosas you’ll ever eat. A...
Read moreI have been a regular here for the last 2 year.
I recently experienced some third-world, third class service.
The prices have been hiked for no reason, yet the quality and taste of the food has stooped down to roadside food.
There was a lady staff member with curly hair, and a tatoo that read "Shivu" on her arm, she was literally mocking a customer when he was asking about the price hike in regards to the quality of food served to him.
The food has been at it's lowest point as of this day, the idly and sambar are sour and bitter, road side dosas taste 100 times better than the ones served here. (Dosas are sour in taste)
Akki-rotti is laden with Maida (refined flour), they add maida, it was practically not chewable and becomes bulletproof if you let it cool for about 3 to 4 mins.
The roti-curry they serve, the dal that is given, this is truly tasteless and made with absolute disregard for the consumer, seems like this branch doesn't care about customer experience. They just want to pocket your money and feed you some tasteless, soul-less food.
This place is a SCAM! The management should be ashamed of hiking prices while giving a truly third-class service experience...

One of the standout dishes at Mysore Mylari Family Restaurant is the famous Mysore dosa. This thin and crispy crepe-like dosa is filled with a flavorful potato masala and served with a side of coconut chutney and sambar.
