I've frequented this place several times, enjoying good food overall. The welcome drink, Kashaya, is consistently delightful, and the introduction of namkeen is a nice touch. However, last visit's sweet Manchurian starters and a disappointing Gudbud with ice pieces left a sour taste. Baby corn pepper fry was below par; the fritters were oddly chewy and lacked freshness. The Veg Meloni didn't impress.
On the bright side, Mysore Masala dosa, rava onion, lacha paratha, Dahi shole, and the star-shaped Cutlet were exceptional, earning a solid 5/5. The service was top-notch, with a special shoutout to the efficient receptionist Rakshith. Parking can be a hassle on busy days, and the hand wash was well-maintained.
Overall, a mixed experience with some hits and misses.
Mixed Experience ,Review from 17th March 2024 We are frequent visitors to and have tried numerous dishes over time. However, our recent experience on 17th March 2024 was a bit mixed. We decided to try the Butter Mushroom and Hara Bara Kabab this time, but unfortunately, both dishes were disappointing. The Butter Mushroom lacked appeal in presentation, although the taste was decent. As for the Hara Bara Kabab, it didn't resemble a kebab at all; it seemed more like a vegetable salad forcefully shaped into a kebab form, and the size and shape were not consistent. Additionally, it was overly covered with white till, which affected the overall taste. On a positive note, we thoroughly enjoyed the Kashmiri Roti and Veg Kadai, which were exceptionally tasty. However, we were let down by the drinks. The Lime Soda tasted bitter, possibly due to excessive lemon squeezing. The Sharjah and Dry Fruit Milkshake was particularly disappointing, as unboiled milk was used, resulting in an unpleasant taste. Considering our experience, we do not recommen especially for these specific dishes. It's worth noting that the starters suggested by the restaurant or their special starters are usually better than those chosen otherwise.Despite the culinary letdown, we must commend our server, Manoj Nayak, for his exceptional professionalism. His courteous gesture towards our little one was heartwarming. It's rare to find servers with such high levels of professionalism.Overall, while our recent visit had its downsides, we appreciate the excellent service provided by Manoj Nayak. However, improvements in dish quality and drink preparation are needed for a more satisfying...
Read moreAt first, Padival's Palara struck as yet another vegetarian restaurant in Puttur. However, the experience, from the time we entered the restaurant to the time we walked out satiated, was an amazing one!
The ambience was very impressive! The space is bifurcated into A/c and Non A/c zones. An aesthetic waiting zone for takeaways denotes that they are mindful of comfort for not just the dine-in customers but for all of them.
The tables are placed at a comfortable distance from one another and are big enough to accommodate several dishes at once with ample space around the plates. The seats are soft and comfy and can easily accommodate 6-8 people.
The service was super prompt and the food was on the table in flat 15 minutes! The attendants were courteous and attentive. The menu has a wide range of items from various cuisines to choose from. We ordered the assorted platter for starters. Every piece on that platter was well done and was perfect! Usually, I find tandoori recipes at certain places a li'l too pungent, but this place just nailed it! The flavour and balance was perfect! I only wish the paneer cubes were less massive. Dal Khichdi was moist and perfectly balanced with the flavours. It was quite filling yet very light. Palak Paneer was all that I hoped and I must say the gravy was exactly how I wished it to be: creamy without any solid bites other than the paneer pieces soaked in it. To relish these dishes we'd ordered Kashmiri Kulcha, Garlic Naan, and, Butter Roti. These were perfect to the 'T' in terms of softness that we all look forward to when breaking it for a bite. The Kashmiri Kulcha had it's unique filling of cashew nut pieces and the pieces were placed on a platter adorned with freshly peeled pomegranate. The garlic naan was softened with ardent kneading and glazed with just enough buttered garlic to make the bite burst...
Read moreWe were 2 of us. There was a small glass of pānaka and a small bowl of cheeselings (free of cost) Ordered tikka platter which contains 12 pieces. 3 varieties of paneer ( hariyali tikka, malai tikka and tandoori tikka) mushroom tikka, babycorn tikka and gobhi tikka sided with chutney and salad. Pretty decent for 3-4 people when you have main course and dessert in mind. Waiter warned us about it as we were only 2. ( That's thoughtful about him!!) Quantity was good. But except paneer, all other items were a bit sour( may be curd for marination was sour!) Spoon and forks were given in a paper cover. We also ordered one hyderabadi biryani. Taste was decent. But quantity was great to be honest. ( We packed the rest) and I ordered one coffee caramel from their Blizzard thinking it's a dessert. But it's a milkshake kind of drink. Sugar was little extra. Coming to the cleanliness, place was pretty clean and washroom was very tidy. There were tissues available after wash and restrooms were neat floor was dry. Staff was extremely sweet and generous. Price was very reasonable too. Bill came around 600+ for 3 items we ordered. If you are Jain, you will also get onion and garlic free food on order as it's a Jain restaurant. Parking space is available. But sometimes might get little congested as it's common for other shops in same building. I would definitely suggest you to opt this restaurant if you are trying to find a good veg...
