its no frills vegetarian restaurant with pocket friendly prices. During Hampi visit, went to the Restaurant for lunch along with local tour guide Manju. Ordered South Indian thali with Jolada Rotti ( Jowar Roti Thali).
Food was served on plantain leaf ( Bale ale), with Hesaru Kalu gatti Palya( Akka Moong / Sabut Moong Subji), Chavali Kayi palya ( Cluster beans subj), Chutney pedi ( Powder), Papad, Pickle, Rice, Sambar and Curd.
Rotti with both palya was excellent, also tasted Chutney pedi with Curd and Rotti. Similarly enjoyed Sambar and Rice. Well balanced Masalas in each the food items prepared. Also high light of the meal is curd rice on plantain leaf with pickle enjoyed . Enjoyed curd rice on plantain leaf, it takes the taste to different level. Overall we enjoyed the food.
Owner son sitting on the cash counter was proactive and tourist friendly. After knowing my google reviews, he suggested me to prepare food videos and upload in you tube.
Hope to visit again to taste other food delicacies specifically Banana flower curry at the Hotel

Read moreDuring my recent trip to Hampi, Karnataka, I had the absolute pleasure of discovering a true culinary gem in Kamalapur. This restaurant, situated just a stone's throw away from the historic ruins of Hampi, exceeded all my expectations in terms of taste, service, and atmosphere.
From the moment I entered the restaurant, the welcoming Aunty made me feel at home.
The menu boasts a wide array of mouth-watering dishes, catering all vegetarians. As someone who loves exploring new flavors, I was delighted to find an extensive selection of local and regional specialties from Karnataka, as well as some popular dishes from across India.
What truly sets this restaurant apart, however, is the incredible taste and quality of the food. Each dish I tried was bursting with fresh, authentic flavors, and the chefs have truly mastered the art of balancing spices and textures. The portions were remarkably generous, making it perfect for sharing with friends or family.
Not only did I leave the restaurant with a full belly, but I also felt like I had gained a deeper appreciation for the rich culinary heritage of this region. I cannot recommend this Kamalapur gem enough to anyone visiting Hampi or the surrounding area. If you're looking for a dining experience that combines delicious, hearty food with a warm, homely welcoming atmosphere,...
Read moreSai Family Restaurant in Hampi may look like a small, simple place, but don’t go by the looks—it serves absolutely amazing food. Yesterday we had dinner at one of the most hyped places in Hampi (Mango Tree), and today we tried Sai Family Restaurant. Trust me, the food here is in a different league altogether.
The uncle and aunty who took our order and served us were incredibly kind and warm. Since it was raining, they even offered us warm drinking water without us asking—such a thoughtful gesture. We ordered the special thali and everything on the plate was delicious. We asked if they could replace the regular chapati with bajra chapati, and they did it happily without charging extra. They even made fresh puran poli for us, which was just as tasty.
We’re a couple who usually prefer places that are hygienic and have a nice ambience, and this one exceeded expectations on the food and the warmth of the people. Families—don’t dismiss it as “shady” because of its size. Give it a try, and you’ll likely fall in love with both the food and the people...
