Visited this restaurant twice as part of Hampi Anegundi visits. I thought the name of this restaurant was Hotel Varsha as we entered always through the entrance to this hotel. Its not easy to miss as its a popular joint in Kamalapura. Lunch hours are crowded. Two types of sitting arrangements are there. Though its crowded we found that the service is quick. The waiters are young boys and they bustle about to accomodate you and serve you. We did not have to wait for more than five minutes to catch the attention of the waiters and once ordered the food was served under ten minutes. Had south indian thali meals and found it to be good, though not exceptional. Second day we ordered chappathies and vegetable cashew curry, Dal kitchdi. The chappathi curry combo was very good, not too spicy and without a heavy hand of masala. The portion size is more than average. Two chappathies was filling for my husband. The dal kitchdi was made with toor dal and hence it was not as relishable. Here too the serving bowl was huge and it's difficult to finish it completely But I think their prize item in the menu is the lassi...had lemon and mango lassies. The mango lassi was excellent. They charge rs 100 for that long glass which is a expensive considering the cost of the ingredients. But I won't complain as after all the walk in the torrid sun all you require would be something cool, soothing and non frizzy. Their buttermilk is also very good and that comes at half the price of mango lassi. Overall dining experience is very satisfactory. I certainly didn't expect such good food in that distant place as Kamalapura. I don't think you can find places that serve food of this quality elsewhere in the vicinity of Hampi. Would highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Hampi. Someone has clarified that its the Mango tree restaurant that I had read on Google with good reviews and was searching for at Hampi, but could not locate. Giving one star less here in the review as I found it a bit pricey...
Read moreHampi Paradise Restaurant: A Disappointing Experience Hampi Paradise Restaurant is unfortunately overhyped, and our recent visit revealed some serious concerns. While the service was quick, the overall cleanliness, particularly in the kitchen, was severely lacking. We were most alarmed by the strong soapy smell on all the plates. This wasn't a faint odor; it was so potent that when we ordered watermelon, the water from the fruit actually dissolved some of the soap. One of us unknowingly ate a piece and immediately realized something was wrong, only to discover the pervasive soapy residue on all three plates of watermelon we'd ordered. Further inspection confirmed that every plate had a distinct dish soap odor, suggesting they are merely dipped in soapy water rather than properly washed and rinsed. It's truly concerning to imagine the state of the food preparation if basic dishware is handled so poorly. Our children had already eaten from one of these plates before we realized the issue. Beyond the cleanliness issues, the food itself was a letdown. Despite the promising names on the menu, none of the dishes tasted authentic. Even some items served on banana leaves appeared to be unwashed. When we brought these issues to the management's attention, they pretended to address our concerns, but no actual improvements were made. Given our experience, we believe that returning to Hampi Paradise Restaurant would be a foolish choice and potentially a threat to...

Upon entering, one might be swayed by the buzz and the seemingly endless stream of positive online reviews. But let me be clear: this is a classic case of hype over substance. While the decor might be passable, a deeper look reveals a truly disappointing reality that makes this restaurant an experience not worth having.
The first sign of trouble arrived with the plates. Not only were they still warm from the dishwasher, but they carried a distinct, unsettling odor of soapy residue. It's the kind of basic hygiene failure that a restaurant, no matter how busy, should never let happen. It instantly raises questions about what's going on behind the scenes if something so fundamental is overlooked.
And the food itself did nothing to redeem the experience. The ingredients tasted noticeably cheap and low-quality, as if no care was taken in their selection. The flavors were muted and uninspired, a testament to an kitchen more concerned with cutting corners than with crafting a quality dish. What's worse, this isn't just a misstep—it feels like a deliberate choice to prioritize profit over the customer's satisfaction.
Ultimately, this is a restaurant that simply isn't worth the price of admission, even if it's a bargain. It's a cheap establishment in every sense of the word, and you would be wise to save your money and your appetite for a place that values quality over misleading...
