Last night, while walking down a bustling street, my eyes caught a signboard that stood out amid the noise and neon lights:
“Satvik Food – No Onion, No Garlic.”
There was something instantly calming about those words — simple, sincere, almost spiritual. I thought, Why settle for yet another flashy multi-cuisine restaurant when I can try something pure, wholesome, and rooted in tradition? Drawn by curiosity and conviction, I stepped inside.
The ambiance was modest yet peaceful, and the menu reflected the same quiet confidence. My heart was already set — I ordered the Paneer Biryani, imagining fragrant basmati rice, tender cubes of paneer, and the gentle symphony of Satvik spices — a dish that could nourish both body and soul.
But reality had its own plans. What arrived looked promising, but the first bite told another story. The rice was half-cooked, each grain standing stubbornly upright, while the paneer was tough and rubbery, testing my patience more than my palate. What I had hoped would be a serene culinary experience turned into an unplanned jaw exercise.
Halfway through, I gave up. Out of respect for food, I asked for it to be packed — not because I wanted to finish it later, but because I couldn’t bring myself to waste it. At home, I added a touch of ghee, a little water, and gently re-cooked it. Miraculously, the biryani transformed. The grains softened, the paneer mellowed, and the flavors finally bloomed — the dish I had imagined came alive at last.
The experience left me thoughtful. Food, I realized, isn’t just about flavor — it’s about expectation, patience, and sometimes, forgiveness.
I genuinely wish the owner the very best, but sadly, this will be my last visit. Despite sharing their contact number, my calls went unanswered — a small but telling lapse in customer care. For that, I would deduct another star, not out of anger, but out of hope that they learn...
Read moreI’ve been a regular customer at Satvik Food, especially for their samosas. However, my recent experiences have been increasingly disappointing.
Visit 1: Bought 4 samosas at ₹25 each — total ₹100. The order took 25 minutes to be packed, but no extra charges were applied. I received the bill and made the payment without issue.
Visit 2 (One week later): Again, 4 samosas — this time the bill was ₹105, with a ₹5 packaging charge. No complaints, and the order was ready in 20 minutes. I paid and left.
Visit 3 (Today, two weeks later): Went for the same 4 samosas, but now the bill was ₹110 — ₹10 packaging charge! I politely questioned the change, reminding them that earlier the charge was ₹5 or none at all. The staff flatly denied any change and insisted they’ve always charged ₹10. This was clearly untrue based on my previous visits.
Due to the inconsistency and denial, I chose not to buy and walked away. They just lost a loyal, regular customer.
Additional issues: The rapid increase in packaging charges within 3 weeks is unreasonable.
And every time, the counter guy casually asks: "Bill chahiye kya?" — which feels unprofessional and raises questions about billing...
