I am profoundly dissatisfied with my recent experience at Al Hubaba Mandi shop located near the Y Mall exit road in Thrissur. After a disappointing delivery to my uncle's home, we decided to give the establishment another opportunity. Regrettably, our latest visit was equally unsatisfactory.

We were looking forward to celebrating a special birthday at Al Habib Mandi Shop, anticipating a delightful meal to commemorate the occasion. However, our experience served as a reminder of the subpar quality we faced during our previous order.

Once again, the Mandi rice was a significant disappointment. It was overly greasy and lacked the aromatic essence typically associated with a well-cooked Mandi. The absence of a recognizable Mandi fragrance was particularly striking.

We chose the Peri Peri Mandi with extra spice, hoping to enhance the dish's flavor. Unfortunately, the spice level was minimal, and the Peri Peri sauce was hardly noticeable.

The accompanying salad also fell short of expectations. It was predominantly made up of cabbage, with only a few carrot pieces, which further diminished the overall dining experience.

Given our consistent negative encounters, we cannot recommend Al Habib Mandi Shop with any confidence. We strongly advise considering other Mandi restaurants in the vicinity to truly enjoy the authentic flavors and quality that this cherished dish deserves..

Previous Experience:

Poor Quality Mandi Rice: Oily and lacking aroma. Unimpressive Flavor: Failed to impress anyone.

Recent Visit:

Ordered Peri Peri Mandi: Specifically requested extra spice. Disappointing Mandi Rice: Same old quality, oily, and aroma-less. Peri Peri Flavor: Not spicy at all, failed to meet expectations. Salad Quality: Overwhelming cabbage, only 2 pieces of carrot.

Kindly note that the review below is based on our single visit to the place.

We had come to try the hotel at once, since we had previously heard decent reviews from others who went there.

In contrast to those experiences, we had an awful night ordering food from here.

We order a quarter BBQ and a quarter creamy BBQ. First of all the waiter served the dips in plastic wrapping, which was weird and the one of dips was sour like hell. We asked the waiter to taste it and he agreed that there is something wrong with it. He gave us a new dip and told that the dip was mixed with vinegar accidentally. I hope he was telling the truth and not the case that the dip had turned bad and we couldn't tell.

We moved on from this bad experience, since the BBQ chicken and creamy BBQ was quite good. We decided to order one more quarter portion of creame BBQ.

One of the worst experience, the chicken has barely been cooked. The second time when we ordered the dish, we could tell that most portion of the chicken was not cooked. We could clearly see it. It was a disgusting sight.

We left the last order of creamy chicken BBQ as it is.

Soon I could here the waiter's quarrel with the cook, other customers has also addressed this issue I guess.

My friend who had visited this place before told the place is not well maintained as it was before. Hygiene and service could definitely improve. Hope this place...

Our first time having jellikettu mandi and it was an amazing experience, speaking about the food it was delicious.The rice was really good ,it had the right amount of flavours and was properly fresh. Both the jellikett beef and chicken was excellent .It was really awesome spicy ,we had to keep a little portion of the masala apart to get the right amount of spicy, if not we would have breath fire, that hot and spicy it was. Spiciness is part of the mandi so if your ok for that leap you must try it out from here. Now service wise it was excellent. We kept changing our seat to get proper cooling, the staff was really cooperative and didn't get pissed off because of that. Proper cooling, that was the only down side of this restaurant, why...?? Because it didnt have any. There was no proper cooling even though we sat at the ac section upstairs.If ac section is this hot i cant imagine the non ac section.. owwff. Get the space properly air...
