Brown Town is easily one of the best cafés in Calicut. Whether you’re ordering something simple like their Peri Peri Chicken Wings or going for the Chicken Involtini, everything is flavorful and absolutely worth the price.
Here are some of the must-try items:
Chicken Loaded Fries – It’s to die for! Cheesy, rich, and served in a generous portion. That alone can fill you up. (If your going to brown town - DO NOT MISS OUT)
Classic Country Beef Burger – Without a doubt, this double beef patty burger is one of the BEST in town. The beef is super juicy and satisfying. It’s always my go-to order. And if you’re a foodie, trust me you’ll gobble the whole thing before you even realize.
Mushroom Cappuccino with Truffle Foam – Its one of their best soups. As a picky eater who usually hates mushrooms, even I loved this. Definitely give it a shot especially if you normally avoid mushrooms.
Full House Pizza – If you like tangy, saucy pizzas with a thin crust, this one’s a must-try. It’s got barbecue sauce and a different flavor profile maybe not for traditional pizza lovers, but overall, it’s worth trying.
Beef Steak – If you're looking for a proper beef steak in Calicut, without a doubt Brown Town is the go to place. The steak is honestly perfection. Tender, juicy, and full of flavor.
Cold Coffee Frappe – Perfect to grab on the way to work, especially if you don’t like overly sweet coffee. It’s strong, smooth, and refreshing.
Now, keeping food aside — the customer service is genuinely impressive. The staff are polite and welcoming, and service is usually quick and efficient. Special shoutout to the manager at Brown Town, Pottammal ; Mr. Ajay. He’s extremely friendly, open to feedback, and genuinely cares about improving.
What really stood out to me was their dedication. I once left a negative review about their strawberry cheesecake (along with my number), and for the next two days, they followed up on it consistently to know the exact issue. That kind of response is rare.
P.S. – There was a time when the burger and beef steak would sometimes fluctuate in taste and juiciness. But every time we pointed it out, they took the feedback seriously and improved. It’s probably due to a change in chefs, but now it’s been consistently good for a while and honestly, the burger is now easily one of the best in town.
Overall, Brown Town isn't just a café it's an experience. Great food, welcoming staff, and a team that actually listens. If you’re in Calicut and haven’t been here yet, you’re...

Read morethis place is genuinely one of the worst cafe/resturants I have ever been to. Me and my family had the pasta bolognese, beef lasagna which is apparently known to be good, three sizzling brownies/hot plate ice creams, two of them with chocolate sauce and one w caramel, a lotus "cheese cake", a hot chocolate, iced latte, lemon ginger mojito and a icee blue.
Let me start off by saying the service was fine its the food that was the issue, the pasta bolognese was more sauce than macaroni. The macaroni being half cooked to the point none of us ate it, there being too much beef, it was just horribly made but let's just say it's not the café's strong suit it's fine. The lasagna was a soup more than lasagna in fact I could get a cheap and yet better structured and made lasagna from Lulu or Nesto but we wanted to eat in a 'nice' restaurant, But lets say the lasagna was not what the café/restaurant is best at leave it. This cafe being a cafe should have decent or at-least drinkable drinks the iced latte was 60% water, 30% coffee, 5% milk and 5% ice. The hot chocolate was also watered down to where it was barely drinkable. The mojito was not even near to considerable as a mojito. The cakes in which the cafe is known for was nothing less than disappointing, as someone who is a cheese cake enthusiast it is a crime to call that a cheese cake. It was more of a pudding with a biscuit base the size of three Lotus biscoff biscuits. The sizzling brownies were so small it drowned in the ice cream not to mention one of them was still raw and the batter was pouring and mixing with the brownie. If not drinks, if not cakes, if not pasta's and food, what exactly is their strong suit? In the name of all food, I sincerely hope you either get better.
I truly wish I had spoken up about this even though my family had asked me not to make a scene, The fact tht we payed full price for...
