Nestled in the heart of Thrissur, Fisherman’s Hub was our final culinary stop during our Kerala trip, and it certainly left a lasting impression. Although we encountered a full parking lot, the convenience of valet parking was a welcome solution.

Upon entering the restaurant, we were greeted by a pleasant ambiance, enhanced by the cool air-conditioning, which provided a refreshing respite from the warm Kerala climate. The layout was inviting, making it a perfect spot for both casual diners and families.

We began our feast with the Avioli Pollichathu (pomfret), a delightful dish wrapped in banana leaves that showcased the rich flavors of local spices. The Seer tawa fry was another highlight, perfectly cooked with a crispy exterior and tender fish inside. The Tiger prawns tawa fry was equally impressive, bursting with flavor and showcasing the freshness of the seafood.

But the star of the meal was undoubtedly the ultimate mango seer fish curry, served with steaming rice. The tangy mango complemented the rich curry perfectly, creating a dish that was both comforting and refreshing. Each bite was a celebration of Kerala's coastal cuisine.

To round off our meal, we indulged in a fruit salad ice cream and a café coffee with ice cream. Both desserts were delicious and provided a sweet finish to our dining experience without being overly heavy.

What stood out throughout our visit was the excellent service. The staff was attentive and friendly, ensuring that our experience was enjoyable from start to finish.

Overall, Fisherman’s Hub offers a fantastic dining experience with a reasonable price tag, making it a must-visit for anyone in Thrissur. We left feeling satisfied and happy, with fond memories of our last meal in Kerala. Highly...

The fish was not fresh and upon complaining, was met with gaslighting from the staff. The noodles also seemed off. The steak and Naan was the only good takeaway.

Edit for the reply:

First and foremost, No option between two fishes were given to us at any point in time, Neither were we informed about it.

To address your "80 percent" claim, in a dish containing separate pieces of food served in front of four people we found the fish to be rotten on the second serving for each of us and assuming we did it for material gain or cheating is not just cheap, but outright defamatory.

Something noteworthy here is that we had provided the waiter with the fish piece that seemed rotten so that they could see it for themselves.

Coming to the point of acceptance of the discount that we so "happily accepted". Your establishment provided us with a 7 percent discount for fish fingers which we did not ask for. We paid the bill as it was, nothing was asked from us on our end.

Also, I did not put up a review on the same day as I thought it was an honest mistake and as I mentioned in my review earlier, 3 dishes were to our satisfaction. However, the following day , each one of the four of us who visited got diarrhea.

I have nothing against the people working there. Even though the first waiter did not acknowledge our problems properly, the second waiter at the same establishment was kind to us and I appreciate the person's kindness. We came for an outing on my father's birthday. I did not expect my family to be sick the following day.

As for your reply, you may take any legal action as you deem fit. I will stand for what I believe is right and what is...

Our experience at Fisherman’s Hub was not very pleasant. During dinner, the fish served was unfortunately not fresh, which caused some stomach discomfort later. The staff did reduce the price when we pointed it out, but food freshness and safety should never be compromised, especially in a hotel restaurant.

Breakfast was comparatively better, but there were still some concerns. The spread was decent, but we noticed a mosquito in the fruit platter, which made us avoid the fruits and salads since they were left uncovered. Proper hygiene practices like covering food would make a big difference.

Overall, the restaurant has potential, but it needs to improve both the quality and hygiene of its food to give guests a truly...

Niya is a good, cozy and well located property in Thrissur. Connectivity to the city is great and the staff is very cordial and warm. Best part is it’s restaurant ‘fisherman’s hub’ which is run by the brilliant head chef John Martin. His dishes are to die for. Haven’t had better seafood than that. Since we were visiting temples, we had to eat vegetarian food for a few days. Even the North Indian vegetarian dishes prepared by John were absolutely fantastic. Even if you don’t stay here, you must come and have food here. Chef John is a jovial personality with great stories to tell, along with the delightful meals that he serves. Must go !!
