We recently visited Huts Restaurant and tried a variety of dishes, including parotta, chicken roast, lime, and two ice creams: strawberry bar and butterscotch cone. The overall experience was okay, but not great. The parotta was the highlight of the meal – it was crispy, flavorful, and had a nice large portion. However, the chicken roast was served cold, and the quantity was on the lower side, which was disappointing. The lime drink was a bit odd – it had only a little sugar, almost as if it was meant for someone with dietary restrictions, which felt a bit off. As for the staff, their behavior was a little uncomfortable. They were staring at us for a long time, which made us feel uneasy. We didn’t report it, but I found a fly in my butterscotch cone ice cream. Honestly, we didn’t bother mentioning it to the staff because we had already noticed their odd behavior, and we figured they might just shrug it off. We also noticed quite a few houseflies lingering around our food, which wasn't ideal for hygiene. The ambiance is quite basic and doesn’t offer anything particularly special – it's just a standard restaurant. We sat there for about an hour, and while the food wasn’t terrible, it didn’t leave us with a strong desire to return. The hygiene was decent but could certainly be improved with better pest control. In conclusion, the food was average, the service could be more attentive, and the overall experience didn’t live up to expectations. A bit more focus on cleanliness and customer service could go a long way.

This is an older review. For a newer one on the relocated restaurant, do scroll to the end. An average run-of-the-mill wayside restaurant that doesn't bank on repeat customers, but on the onetime traveler who's most unlikely to stop there again. The menu is a sham as they won't have most of the dishes shown in it. The quantity is too low, especially the Chinese dishes. The Gobi Manchurian they served me had two (I mean it, just two) cauliflower heads and a few onion and garlic pieces topped with a few teaspoons of sauce. Call it fleecing, swindling, or a rip-off, the amount they charge for such low quantity is outrageous. I mustered courage to point this out only to get a bland reply that Chinese dishes are usually served in less quantity. If they're aware of the quantity being less, what about the price they charge? Huts is for the one-time customer, the travelers who'd make a stopover there to dine during their journey. No matter what they serve or how much they charge, wayside restaurants need not bother about customer satisfaction as there is no such thing as a repeat customer. Edit: the newer restaurant has improved in most aspects. The quantity is much higher though I sincerely wish the quality too catches up. There's no menu (a bit disappointing) and I guess they need time to settle after their relocation. I hope Huts picks up from where it left and becomes an affordable alternative.

Food was good except for the fish fries. We got kalanchy and avoli fried ones. But they felt like both got dipped in a Boling oil. It was burned and didn't had any masala flavours that you expect. However kalanchy and karimeen polichathu was good. Masala was great and goes well with rice. Duck curry was ok but my family liked it. Some may or may not like it. Biriyani was good but not the best. We got veg meal with fish dishes but was a wrong choice since veg meal itself is charged 120. So check with them for option of plain rice with fish curry and fries. Good thing about veg meal is that it come with semiya payasam. Our waiter was kind enough to get additional payasam for kids... Nice staffs. Overall, it was good experience and nice place to experience fish items. Something we didn't understood on the billing was that both kalanchi masala and fry was marked the same price. Didn't bothered to question it. Attaching bill of anyone is interested in knowing the price of each items, we had 😉

The place is awesome. It has a quiet and good ambience. They are very famous for their tasty organic food. The one important factor is that, they prepare the food using organic fruits and vegetables grown in their own farm. They have own farms in Tamilnadu. The meet like chicken and duck are grown by them in Alappey itself. The hotel is located in Main Road itself, that is, in Alappey Bypass which makes it easier to access. They provide good parking for vehicles in front of the restaurant. Nobody will get dissapointed by visiting the restaurant as the taste of the food products prepared by them are outstanding. If you prefer sea foods or Nadan food, it's a must place to visit as they have a wide range of food products. Also if you want to buy the products that they use to prepare their food, it's also available at their counter. The atmosphere is very pleasing as it provides an ambience which is very much preferred by families and youngsters both. The wall of the restaurants are filled with news paper cut outs about the news of the restaurant. Last but not the least, if you're true food lover, it's a must place for you to visit and it will be a great loss...
